Re: Gritten Stoker's Tombstone I was wondering, the next time you are at the Houtz cemetery (when the snow is gone) if you could check the tombstone of Gritten Stoker. I would like to know for sure if his first name begins with a G. or a C. I cannot see for sure in the picture.
Frances Houtz George Actually, the birth date I had for her was Jul 2, 1830. Of course, that may have been a baptismal date. Who knows whether they knew how to calculate age using years, months, and days (as inscribed on the tombstone). Lots of room for mistakes.
I've not made it a part of my hobby to chase down the siblings of my ancestors. It would take more than one lifetime for that!
RE: Leonard Houtz I would, except I'm in Ohio. Thank-you for doing that. I have just started taking pics for find-a-grave and am very disappointed in the condition of the graves. I thought it was up to the churches that have most of the graveyards to take care of them but I guess not. Anyway, thanks again! Brenda
