Bio and Links
Bio Photo I'm an expatriated Floridian, living and freezing in western NY. Spring, summer and autumn are beautiful though, and perfect for wandering through cemeteries, the older, the better. I'm a life-long cemetery browser, and FAG has given me more excuse than ever to pursue that hobby. I thoroughly enjoy finding and photographing stones for others.
Been tracking down my own ancestors for the past 40 years.
Some family names I'm digging into are:
Durland/Dorlandt, Jacoby, Garey, Pierce/Pearce, Stice/Steiss, Williams, Smith, Ingle/Engle/Ingalls.
Feel free to contact me if you have questions or info about any of these.

RE: And a veteran too!
You are welcome.

Love those Finger Lakes. Got a limit of largemouth bass and a limit of eastern chain pickerel at Woodville on the 30th of October. Released them all, but had a great time. Estimated the total weight of the bass at about 9 1/2 to 10 pounds. All but one fish came on my own homemade spinnerbaits.

Time to do a little Find-A-Grave for the winter.

RE: Archibald Durland
Hello Gloria, no, I am not related. However, someone else I know is a relative and was researching him and I offered to add the info on Find A Grave. I can contact her to see if she is still interested in communicating with others. If you want me to do that, please send me a message but to my personal email address, englishmoor@hotmail.com. Please add Archibald Durland to the subject line since I assume it will go into my junk mail and so easy to recognize. Marie

Do you mean the CJ 1730-1795 or the CJ 1784-1854?

BTW - did you notice the 3 big stumps behind his grave stone. That's a shame, that the big cemetery trees are gone now.

RE: Conrad Jacoby
Hi Gloria,

I too descend from Conrad and I have no idea. It's a little blurry, but I'll ask some friends of mine who can speak and read German and see if they know.
