Bio and Links
Bio Photo My name is GenealogyBuff and I am a marine historian and genealogist living in Truro, Nova Scotia.

I have spent many years trying to uncover the names and faces of those lost in major disasters. As i have lost a family in the sinking of the Titanic, i feel compelled to ensure all victims have a name.I also spent a lot of time transcribing local cemeteries for genealogical purposes.
I focus my studies on shipping disasters, and if anyone is interested in discussing shipping disasters (to whom you will find on my page) i would be delighted.

Regarding memorials i have created: If a memorial has been created for one of your family members, ask and i will transfer it over to you.

Eastland Shipping Disaster
Agnes Olsen and two of her nieces(Edna & Mildred McCrory), the children being distant cousins to good friend James "Jim" McCrory. I saw this short film footage on the on the wreck, a grad student found on Dutch news reals.. thought you'd be interested in seeing. Do a copy/paste of the link:

Sad... but good movie pictures of the wreck after the accident.

Any ideas where they are buried? It sounds like she suffered from some form of mental illness to be frank, but hey, who knows. Hard to imagine a woman giving birth 26 times, not sure I believe it actually.

RE: Photo of Deceased Child
I removed the pictures of dead people but I will need a picture of little Edward Ferguson because it's the only picture of him I can find.

La Borgogne
Hi, Hildur. I finally put Amy's whole name in. I was so excited when I found that picture of her. I was all, "cool picture, I wonder who the kid is," then I looked at the back and it actually had her name (just Amy, though), and her exact age and everything. My great-grandmother saved the picture of her little cousin.

Did you know what Alice, Amelie, and Amy were doing on La Bourgogne? They were going to pick up my great-grandmother from Switzerland, where she was visiting her Swiss grandmother and aunts and uncles, and bring her back to NOLA. Her parents were afraid to bring her back after La Bourgogne and she spent much of her childhood in Switzerland.

I found the images of Helen and Anna Liebenow, and the Gallagher family on the General Slocum Documentary "Ship Ablaze". It's now on YouTube so you can see it on there

RE: Pringle Family Relations
My Great/Great Grandparents (on my mother's side, through my grandmother) were James Riley Pringle/Eliz. Sedore, my Great Grandparents were Ada Beatrice Pringle/Reginald Asselstine, my grandmother was Marie Francis Asselstine/Mrs Wilbert South, my mother was Beatrice South/Mrs Arthur Donaldson. So yeah, I am a Pringle. I am doing a complete Pringle family work up, like I did for my Donaldson family. How are you related to the Pringles. Do you know any old Pringles who can help with family history?

RE: Mary Polly Richards

I think you may be interested in an Find A Grave memorial I photographed a while back.

It is a memorial for a husband and wife lost when the SS Vestris sunk in the Atlantic in 1928. The memorial has the newspaper article on it also. Find A Grave # is 74600848.
