My name is Hildur Panula-Heinonen and I am a Finnish marine historian and genealogist living in Truro, Nova Scotia.
I have spent many years trying to uncover the names and faces of those lost in major disasters. As i have lost a family in the sinking of the Titanic, i feel compelled to ensure all victims have a name.I also spent a lot of time transcribing local cemeteries for genealogical purposes. I focus my studies on shipping disasters, and if anyone is interested in discussing shipping disasters (to whom you will find on my page) i would be delighted.
Regarding memorials i have created: If a memorial has been created for one of your family members, ask and i will transfer it over to you.
PLEASE DO NOT UPLOAD ANY PHOTOS TO ANY OF THE MEMORIALS I HAVE MADE (ESPECIALLY ONES OF MY OWN FAMILY) UNLESS YOU MESSAGE ME FIRST SO THAT I CAN APPROVE THE PHOTO. I HAVE BEEN HAVING LOT OF ISSUES WITH THIS LATELY AND THE MEMORIALS WILL BE DELETED AND RE-DONE IF A PHOTO IS ADDED WITHOUT MY APPROVAL.

 | RE: International Wargraves Holocaust I like the photos you put for 2 year old Albert Cogan. :) The first one with him on the rocking horse , he looked like a chubby little thing. The second one with that stick in his mouth, he looked like a cute little thing. :) | | | Gregory Chapman

 | RE: Martha Kent-Thomas Notting Family Graves Hi Hildur I appreciate the photos that you have added to my memorials. I added a memorial for the infant, Elizabeth Ann NOTTING. As for the other folks that you have referred to, I do not have any information pertaining to them; Therefor am not following the families. They are probably related, though I do not know how. I would suggest that you add memorials for them, and perhaps, someday, a descendant will find them and explain the connection. Keep doing your fantastic project, you are invaluable to folks like me. Thank-you, so very much for all of your help !! Yvonne Gowen | | | Pat Taylor Jennings
 | RE: Cpt Matthew Taylor, Robie Cemetery, Truro, NS--Son Thank you for that information Hildur. I have added memorials for Mathew's grandson and wife, and gr. granddaughter, Susan. I look forward to seeing the tombstone photos and sharing them with the rest of the Taylor family. As soon as I get time, I will try to locate the other family members who are buried there and put up some memorials. The Taylors were very intermarried with the Archibalds so I'm sure there are many of them buried there as well. | | | Pat Taylor Jennings
 | RE: Cpt Matthew Taylor, Robie Cemetery, Truro, NS--Son Thank you so much for the excellent photo. Next to Mathew is as follows: His gr.granddaughter, Susan (Taylor) Blackie, d. March 17, 1857 @38, wife of Charles Blackie; Elizabeth Taylor, wife of another Matthew Taylor (next grave), d. July 7, 1864, @72; Matthew Taylor, grandson of the Capt., d. Jan. 29, 1876. I will be happy to make the memorials for them as soon as possible and appreciate you adding the photos very much. I believe there are many relatives in this cemetery that need memorials but I just don't know who all is there. Thanks again!
