I enjoy the process of putting together a family tree. Find A Grave has been very helpful to me. I hope that any grave information or photographs that I provide are helpful to you.

I would appreciate your requesting permission to use my photographs. Please remember to give credit to me for the photograph. Simply using the photo and indicating "Courtesy of Find A Grave" is not appropriate and violates the copyright of the photo.

Thanks for being a considerate user of Find A Grave.

Thorn surname
Hi. I am trying to figure out some information on the Thorn family. I was wondering if you could help me. I just want to make sure that any information I put in my tree is correct. My connect to the Thorn line is coming from the Dyess line.

What surname did you do the DNA? May I ask?

That was Perry-Dallas Co...but you know what I meant. Had coffee but the brain is still 65 years old and slow sometimes.

RE: Fannie Lewis Adkins
If I am "blood kin" to Fannie, I don't know it but those old families that settled that part of of Alabama all intermarried.

I belong to the Family Tree Y-Surname DNA project for the surname "Thompson"...not my AL lines. As members, we can look at other surnames projects results. I smiled when I saw the Davis line of Perry-Davis Counties, AL had a member named Martin in TX who has Davis DNA instead of Martin! I imagine that old Doc Martin took a baby fathered by a Davis man as his own to raise.....or Mrs. Martin had a Davis boyfriend! I also imagine the Mr. Martin in TX got a real surprise when he saw that results.

As of today, I have posted 11,375 Virtual Flowers on Find A Grave....and I don't even remember on who any of them were except my family. On the Discussion Forums there is a thread for "grief" and I don't post flowers often on those request.

Fellowship Cemetery
Thanks for adding a more recent photo of Fellowship Cemetery in Dallas County. Since "home coming" isn't being held there after the church burnt to the ground, there seems to be no "clean up" day for the cemetery and it is getting overgrown. In the past, that was done the Saturday before Sunday church service and dinner-on-the-grounds celebrating the reunion of descendents of the original members of the church and those buried in the ancient cemetery.

RE: Borrowing photos
Hi Susan,
Good to hear from you! Your husband and I are distant cousins.
I am assuming you are referring to Nancy A Driver b.1843, Find A Grave#75581004. The pictures you are referring to are by Jay Cassady, if you click on his name below the pic you can contact him. He must of added the pics after I took over the memorial, because I have not seen them, they are wonderful!
If you haven't already ck out the memorial for gggrandmother, Temperance Todd Driver # 75561334.

RE: William Hughes - Alabama
I can not help the fact that I shared a photo at the request of a user and they attached it to the wrong person. Let them figure it out. It has been confused with another DAR patriot with exactly the same details!!!! Let them straighten it out - in my tree I have it attached to the correct person! But thanks!!!

OK EMarie's memorial - it is not mine! I sent her the picture link that is all. You can take it up with her and the DAR. Thanks.
