I just recently started doing geneology research with the hopes to create a special book for my parents for Christmas. I never really had much interest in geneology before June 2010, but now that I have started, I am really finding it fascinating and I have a new appreciation for history, as well! I have had a lot of kind people help me get started and find information, as I am still new to this. I would like to be able to return the favor, and so I have added myself as a photo volunteer.

Oh my goodness, you also did the grave of Mattie Wolfe, my great-aunt. Thank you so very much!

Oh my! How can I thank you for the beautiful photo of the headstone of my great-great grandparents and the church as well? I think they are some of the most beautiful photos I have seen at find a grave! It surely brought tears to my eyes to see them and I will treasure them. I've just learned that Nancy was a midwife. I can add biographies and now they can be truly "gone but not forgotten" as the stone reads. Thanks so very much!!!

Sinking Springs Cemetery
The scouts did a great job. They divided the cemetery into sections and indexed all the names. I was able to copy the map in several sections then piece it together. I'm sure it will be very helpful. They aren't open every day in the winter so check their schedule. Good luck! Carol

Sinking Springs Cemetery
The Eagle Scouts did a survey of Sinking Springs Cemetery. They did a map of the cemetery which makes it easy to find graves. It is located at the Washington County Historical Society in Abingdon.

Burdine Cemetery
Thank you for your information. I will have to review what I know about it and give you some specifics on what exactly I hope to find. I am related through the Dickensons--we have a Burdine marriage in there. Thanks for your email--I would have replied sooner but we have be traveling for the last three weeks. I appreciate it! I would love to visit the cemetery myself. I'll send you an email as soon as I can.
