|In general I will be monitoring and editing data related to two separate Zimmerman families from Rochester, IN USA - their descendants and antecedents. |
I will try to fill photo requests near 61820 but I am new to this so I may not be very fast at it. ;-)
I want to thank all those who have done so much good work already on this site. Your efforts in many cases are nothing sort of amazing.
My efforts here arise from my being the genealogical guy in the family. I have been slowly trying to fill in the blanks and collect data so future generations will have something accurate to refer to.
I am most fortunate to come from Fulton County Indiana where Jean C. and Wendell C. Tombaugh have done a HUGE amount of work over the decades and thus placed so much obituary data in searchable formats. It is now all hosted online at the Fulton County Library. Their work has made it possible for so many to find out about their family histories - even at a distance.

Thank you for the photo of my father's monument that you submitted! S. Walsh
|Shannon Walsh||RE: Robert Walsh memorial|
My father's grave is on the far West side of St. Mary's Cemetery. It is about 15 feet from the Illinois Central Railroad tracks. When you enter the cemetery through the gate closest to the viaduct, Robert's grave will be back 100 feet. It will be back by the Pfeffer monument that features a near life sized crucifixion scene. Robert is buried near the Francis E. Pfeffer and Alice Pfeffer graves, and if you wanted to be super helpful, I don't think anyone has contributed pictures of their grave either. Francis and Alice are my mother's parents. Thank you for your help. Shannon Walsh

I see two requests for Roselawn (near Champaign, IL) but both memorials already have photos. Have they just been filled but were never claimed - or do you need some other pix?

|Daylily||RE: Funnell's - seen any? ;-)|
Hi Bruce, I wish I could help but it's been a while since I searched on those folks. I did my research through the Miami County site where the Tombaughs did so much work in that area. The only suggestion I can make is maybe to look for them in other counties, such as Cass or Howard. They may have bought plots in a different county other than Miami county. Many folks who start out in one place can move around and end up being buried in another county for various reasons.

|Daylily||RE: Are we related?|
Hi Bruce, Yes we are distant cousins and I have written to you on Ancestry before. I remember your name on Ancestry, devname, and have written about Zimmmermans on the message boards. I am also Daylily on Ansestry too. John Franklin Zimmerman was also my gggrandfather. His son Martin was my great-grandfather and Daniel Zimmerman's brother. I will share any info I have to help you if you need it. Cindy
