I can not locate the person you mentioned. Can you give me the memorial number? I will see if I can help you.
|Vickie Oates Woods||RE: Amelia|
Sorry, but I don't have a clue about them either. I just left flowers for all the memorials there. Sorry I can't help you. Sincerely, Vickie

I don't know what became of her daughters. Sorry. Wish I did know.

Forsyth County, NC Cemetery Records, Vol IV, page 848 lists Richard and Sarah Carmichael with birth and death dates. This is not the Salem Moravian Cemetery. The book stated "Salem Cemetery is surrounded on two sides by the Salem Moravian Church Graveyard (God's Acre), but the two cemeteries are under entirely different management.
Sorry, I don't have pictures.
|Ricky Sheets||RE: Theophilus Bowlin|
To my knowledge there is not a Grant Sheets Cemetery in NC, so I would tend to think there is an error somewhere. There are 3 Sheets cemeteries in Ashe County...the Sheets Gap Cemetery a.k.a the Andrew Sheets Cemetery, the Jake Sheets Cemetery and the David Sheets Cemetery, which is where Grant Sheets is buried. Is is possible that the name Grant Sheets is where the registrar signs? Grant, along with a few other Sheets family members where part time registrars of death certificates. I'm not sure if that would be the case here or not. Something else to take into consideration..Theophilus died in 1919, Grant died in 1957. So even if Grant had a cemetery named after him, it wouldn't have been in existence in 1919.

I have only been there once. If Ricky doesn't know I wouldn't know.

In checking my personal records, I have that Theophilus is buried at the Sheets Cemetery at mile marker 253 on the Blue Ridge Parkway. In the Ashe County Cemetery Records there is a listing for a Theo Bowline in row 4, but once again, the grave is unmarked. Chances are this is the Theophilus Bowlin you are searching for.

I have taken pictures of all of the markers in Peak Creek Cemetery and do not have a picture for Theophilus Bowlin. I have checked the Ashe County Cemetery Records and there is no listing for him. So, unfortunately, it would seem that Theophilus is buried in an unmarked grave.

Sorry, I can't help you, Tracy. I've never been there. Perhaps it's an unmarked grave.
