I'm sorry lenny, but it wasn't me. It wasn't me that added a picture to James Mayes memorial, it was someone else.

Do you know anything about the circumstances of his death? He was charged with murder in the death of his wife Edna on 29 Dec 1939 and died the following day. I'm doing genealogical research into the family of his wife Edna Phelps.

I seen your request for a photo of Jennie Mays headstone. I have taken photo's of all the headstones in Oak Forest Cemetery and I can't find her. I am on the board of the cemetery, so I have the books also. I found where she is buried and can't remember any head stone there.I am working on a book of the cemetery and almost have it finished except for pictures of all the headstone's in it. I do have some pictures in it and will finish it.
Oak Forest Cemetery is a nice place, there is alot of my family buried there. I will go through all my pictures again to look to see if I have over looked it and will upload if there is one.

You're very welcome! I'm glad I could help you out.
If you could request a photo for her husband as well, that would be good for me to help build my number. It was a long drive to Puxico, and I'd like to get the extra fulfillment credit for the trip!
Oak Forest Cemetery is a pauper cemetery. There are no stones. In fact, it has been neglected and it is now a forest and no one is allowed in. If you want, I can look for records, but there is no graves markers for any pictures.

I am not related in any form to the family. I was hired to do another tree for the Roloff family. However, all the children married early Blue Island settlers so the tree began to branch in several directions. So I just kept going.....
I think I got the spelling from Cook COunty Marriage License and a distant family member on Ancestry. Are you related?
