FAIRCHILD – Roy Abrahamson, 77, died Sunday at his home. (7-18-1976)
Born in Fairchild, (11-15-1898) Mr. Abrahamson, married Dorothy Matysik on July 1, 1919. He worked for the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad until 1928 and operated his own coal and trucking business in Fairchild. Later, he worked for the Eau Claire Highway Department for more than 17 years, retiring in 1965.
Mr. Abrahamson was a former mayor and council man or the Village of Fairchild, a member of the volunteer fire department and sanitation engineer for the Fairchild Landfill.
Survivors include his wife; six sons, Leonard, Hortonville, Gerald, St. Paul, Bernard, River Falls, Alvin, Elroy, Charles, all of Fairchild; two daughters, Mrs. Carol Anason, Neillsville, Mrs. Susan Janke, Union Grove; two sisters, Mrs. Hulda Doehr, Ladysmith, Mrs. Selman Jones, Des Moines, Iowa; 23 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Anderson Funeral Home, Augusta, with burial in the Fairchild Cemetery.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday and until services Wednesday.
Note: Survivors: The names of two surviving sons, Edwin, Lyle, both of Fairchild, were omitted from Monday's obituary for Ray Abrahamson.

FAIRCHILD – Edwin R. Abrahamson, 71, 101 Camp Road, Fairchild, died Wednesday, November 3, 1993, at Fairchild Health Care Center.
He was born June 5, 1922, in Fairchild, to Roy and Dorothy (Matysik) Abrahamson. He married Avis Wampole September 26, 1942, in Augusta. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific. He owned and operated a trucking business and also drove school bus for the Fairchild School District. He worked for the Eau Claire County Highway Department before retiring in 1984. In Fairchild he was a member of the American Legion, served on the Village Board for 14 years, and was on the volunteer fire department for 35 years.
Survivors include his wife, Avis of Fairchild; a daughter, Kayleen (Larry) Delonge of Greenfield; two sons, Dennis (Sherry) of Denver, Colorado, Dale (Renee) of Fairchild; seven grandchildren; a great-grandson; six brothers, Leonard of Fairchild, Gerald (Rosemary) of St. Paul, Charles (Sandy) of Fairchild, Alvin (Marlys) of Mauston, Lyle (Arlene) of Fairchild, Bernard (Peggy) of River Falls; two sisters, Carol (Lamoine) Anason of Neillsville, Susie (Kenny) Janke of Union Grove, 20 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 6, at United Methodist Church in Fairchild, with burial in Fairchild Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday (today) at Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, and an hour before services at the church.

Dorothy Abrahamson, 85, of the Fairchild Nursing Home, passed away Tuesday evening, January 22, 1985 at the Neillsville Memorial Hospital.
Dorothy Abrahamson, daughter of Frank and Magdlene Dahlke Matysik, was born November 16, 1899, in the Town of Cleveland, Jackson County, Wisconsin.
She was united in marriage to Roy Abrahamson on July 1, 1919 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Fairview. The couple lived all their married life in Fairchild. Since October 15, 1983, Dorothy had been a resident of the Fairchild Nursing Home. She had been a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Fairchild and a member of their Altar Society. She was a member of the Fairchild American Legion Auxiliary and of the Royal Neighbors.
She is survived by seven sons: Leonard, Humbird, Edwin, Charles and Lyle, all of Fairchild, Gerald, St. Paul, Minnesota, Alvin, Mauston, and Bernard, River Falls; two daughters, Carol Anason, Neillsville, and Susan Janke, Union Grove, Wisconsin; 23 grand children and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters, and by her husband Roy in August of 1976.
Funeral services were held January 25, at St. John's Catholic Church, Fairchild with Father Cassidy officiating. Burial was in the Fairchild Cemetery. Source: Eau Claire Leader-Telegram.

On August 14, I had a massive heart attack with renal failure and spent August and September in the hospital. I'm sorry I could not respond to your requests but I had no ability to do that in the hospital (wish I had a laptop). I will try to answer your requests, if I can physically do it, but I am still in recovery. Again, I'm sorry I could not respond. I do not know if I will be able to continue my Findagrave activities, I'm still trying to figure that out.
