RE: obtis on FAG
when Find A Grave merges no flowers are lost. Obits are against the rules. I am planning to finish bio's this weekend.... too much to do with getting ready for funerals today.

Can I add an obituary to my interment listing?
Do not copy obituary notices from newspapers (or from funeral home notices or web sites) to an individual's memorial record unless you have permission from the newspaper to do so or you are the author of the obituary. Some obituaries that were published in 1922 or earlier are now in the public domain. In general, obituaries in newspapers are submitted by the family with assistance from the funeral home. If the obituary is added to the memorial record, list the newspaper and date the obit was printed for example "Published in the Hattiesburg American, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Internet Edition, April 11, 2007". Please do not include the names of living or surviving relatives in the biography, unless you have their permission. If you do not have permission to copy an obituary to a memorial, you may put a note stating the name of the newspaper and the date the obituary was published.
Please do NOT add photographs from obituary notices (unless you, personally took the photo), as they are protected by copyright law. Find A Grave reserves the right to remove obituary notices and photographs from memorial records. Similarly, you may NOT scan an obituary and add it as a photograph to a memorial record.
Obituaries for "famous" individuals are usually written by newspaper staff and can not be posted to Find A Grave as the newspaper company owns that copyright.
Please do not include website addresses that may be listed in the obituary as they usually expire within a year after the obituary is printed. [Top]

Can I add a memorial from a newspaper or other 3rd party source?
Find A Grave does not discourage the legitimate indexing of the deceased through obituaries or other 3rd party accounts. Newspapers represent a very good source of information as a public record. What we ask is that those who index and memorialize the deceased from newspapers and other 3rd party accounts do so with full respect of copyright, refrain from adding information about living people, and respond generously to the family of the deceased. If anyone related to the deceased feel unsatisfied with Find A Grave or the memorial manager, we ask that they contact us at for satisfactory resolution.

Find A Grave takes no position on the appropriate timing of submitting such indexes. [Top]

Hello Ms. Becky

Do you recall if there was an address for Mt. Olive Methodist Episcopal Church cemetery. I went out to Frederick Co. to try and find the location and found that it was the wrong cemetery and wrong part of Frederick Co.

I see the description for the cemetery as to where it would be but I have tried pulling it up on Google but not able to narrow the location. I would like to try once more to go the cemetery at a later time.

Grant Brightful was my 3rd great granduncle.

Thank you in advance for anything you can tell.

EllaMarie Caple Tate/ Sandy Mount
Hi Becky!
Long time. I have been off the radar for a while.. a long while. I got a message about Ella Marie Tate and I did not realize until just now that her Memorial (# 80213098) was not mine. It IS a duplicate of an older one #5823936, created and maintained by Candace xxoo or something like that. I have been asked by someone else to delete 80213098 because it is a dup. if you wouldn't mind please. I did make a correction to her name and Candace accepted that but she didn't change the year of death from 1922 to 1992. The Obit is on there now. My photos are on both so, it won't hurt anything to delete the Memorial. Surely would appreciate it as well as Audrey who requested it be deleted.

Merry Christmas!!
