A Washington, D.C. native, I now live in the other Washington. I came across this site while Googling an old boyfriend. Sounds like he is a contributor. |
I have always enjoyed strolling through cemeteries and reading tombstones. I once lived across the street from a cemetery in Johnstown, PA filled with flood and influenza victims. The children's section was heartbreaking.
I also made a pilgrimmage to Rock Creek Cemetery to view the memorial Henry Adams commissioned the sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens (see picture) to design for his wife, Marion Hooper "Clover" Adams. Marion was a woman ahead of her time, but suffered from depression. She was a photographer, very close to her father, and when he died she committed suicide using her photographic chemicals.
My claims to fame are attending both the first Beatles concert in the United States and JFK's funeral, watching John-John salute his father.
If anyone needs assistance with a memorial in the Boulder, Colorado area, let me know.
