My husband & I live in one of the most historical areas of North Carolina, near 2 Civil War Battlefields & Old Bluff Church. Our local history covers the Scots arrival to North Carolina, Revolutionary War, The War for Southern Independence & so much more in between.
Our passion is history with an emphasis on 1861-1865 & the true reasons for the cause of this war. ALL History must be preserved!! We are trying to locate as many members of our families as possible so their stories will not be lost forever.
Family names we are researching: Overby, Overbee, Overbey, Lucas, Weaver, King/Keen, Brown, Smith, Tart, Barefoot, Burgette, Burgett, Burchette, Burchett, Holder, Prevatte/Prevatt, Calcutt, Owen/Owens & Branch just for a beginning!

Hello: So sorry to be getting back on this. I lost a lot information when our home burned and am still trying to get everything back together. She had not yet been entered into at that time so once I am up to speed with her family I'll get back with you.

Hi Linda: Jeff transferred her and her husband to me in 2012. Didn't notice there was no death date. Thank you for letting me know about her. I grew up on what is now known as Phillips Rd. Moved out west over 40 years ago. Spent a lot of time walking around in the Starling Cemetery.

Burgett Triplets
Thank you for the information. I have added the one and made a note that they were triplets. I have also linked them to their mother. Thanks again.

You did I believe. But, I appreciate you doing it again, just in case. I know how it goes when you get busy, you can forget all the things you took care of. (Especially at my age!) Happy hunting! Vonna

RE: Second request for transfer
The Lucas families I would like to keep since they are my husbands direst line as well. Please send any edits and I will add. Thank you.

RE: Family links
If Ernest is his father, then the link is correct. If it isn't let me know and I can help you sort it out. I am always here if you have questions. Vonna

RE: Clarsey Sills
I am happy I could help. Reuniting family is why I go through old WPA records.

RE: Thank you
Thank you so much, we will overcome these recent events. I think they have us a stronger community.

I am happy to transfer generational grandparents. I found her information in the 1940 WPA records held in the state archives. The name of the cemetery is from the book, "Gravestone Inscriptions" Wayne county.
