Arnest cemetery
Richard,I just read that you apparently found the grave of Elizabeth Hyde near Argo mo. I am very curious how and why you searched for her grave there? I grew up very close to Argo in Bourbon and would be her ggg grandson. Most Hydes are buried where they settled near the Meramec south of Sullivan. where did you find the letter detailing her husbands death and other family history? I don't know if you have seen Susan Hyde Springer's 1914 letter about the Hyde history around what was called Hyde Bend on the Meramec. Also what is the location of the Arnest plot and who is the landowner? regards,George Springer

John Shelton
James KP Shelton
As it turns out, I am a cousin from this branch of the family. My tree runs from myself to John Elbert Shelton (my father) to William Earl to John Elbert to James Knox Polk Shelton. I have some old pictures of the family that included the one you have of Cornelia, but I also had one of JKP and added it to your listing. I hope you don't mind.

Photo of JKP Shelton
Requesting to use your photo of JKP Shelton.

I am a the Chairman of the Texas Division UDC, Texas Civil War Museum, Board of Trust. We have JKP confederate flag which was given to us by his son Horace Shelton.

If you have additional information on the military service of JKP we would appreciate a copy of that military service.

Thank you,
G. Mounger

Laura Coggins headstone
I have uploaded the picture of Laura's headstone. The really coincidental thing is that I am a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. We joined in 1987, but even 15 years after the wreck, it was still a sensitive subject that we learned about shortly after joining. Thank you for allowing me to do this.

You are very welcome, and I'm glad I could do this. It makes it easy when you include the section and lot number. This cemetery is very well cared for. Many of the Richard King family are buried here (they are a famous ranching family who donated land to build the town, etc.)
