RE: Emmett Cemetery
I am looking for a mystery. :) My Grandmother had an Aunt named Dora Margaret Cornelius McGee. She was married to James Slyvester McGee. James was the son of Sarah and John McGee. No one knows where Dora was buried. She and James lived in the Busch area at least that is what I was told. Dora died while James was away and her body wasn't found until James got back home. They had one small daughter named Elise McGee Snell. More than you want to know I'm sure since this isn't the line we share. :) Anyway, I found Sarah McGee, Dora's mother in law, buried at Emmett and knowing how close Emmett is the the Busch area I thought maybe there was a record of Dora being buried there. I don't even have an exact death date for Dora. It would have been right around the same time her mother in law Sarah McGee died, somewhere between 1889 and 1891. It is likely Dora's grave is unmarked wherever it is located but was hoping to get a location at least. will probably always remain a mystery.

Dora's husband James McGee remarried and is buried with his second wife at Riverside Cemetery in Hannibal as is their daughter Elsie Snell and her husband Harvey. They are all on Find a Grave. Thanks for any light you can shed. On another note, learn anything new about our Hollenback/Jennings lines?

Emmett Cemetery
Hi Sherry,
Do you know who has the burial records for Emmett Cemetery or if there are any? I am looking for the burial location of an elusive family member. Thanks!

Directions to Emmett Cemetery
You might change the location to 5 miles North of Ashburn on Pike Co. Rd. 100, just North of Rte. T. Jct.
Was there today and went back into what is known as Bush Cemetery and got more photos to post.

Thanks for that. I will look again and get them as well. The office has been wrong about markers but they help so much when I can find another name near by with a marker.

What are you doing on findagrave?! :) Just have seen all the work you did for the family down at Emmett Cemetery. Thanks for all your work. I didn't know you were interested in the family tree. I am going to connect Maude Hollenback Lamberson to her parents today so you can explore further back if you want. I also have a contact for Hollenback genealogy that is a descendant of one of Maude and Bertha's sisters. She can take the Hollenback tree back to the Revolutionary War. If you want to swap info email me

Heather :)
