RE: Mislabling of sisters as spouses
Thanks for your response, Chris - and obviously you are way ahead of me on this, but I did send a message to NWMGS noting the problem. I did not recall the problem from when I had previously looked at the Dunlap sites, so assumed that it might be their additions that messed up the relationships. Also, for what it's worth, I prefer your photographs.

Thanks,
Bob Turpin - a distant relative in Kansas City

Mislabling of sisters as spouses
I am sending this to Chris and NWMGS regarding Find A Grave Memorial 57852326 for Leona Dunlap Peabody and Find A Grave Memorial 57852357, both at West Lawn Cemetery, De Kalb, Buchanan Co, Missouri.

The memorials for these two have been entered by two different sources at different times, so I'm not sure who can change it - but here's the problem: It shows Leona Dunlap Peabody and Lutie Dunlap as being SPOUSES of each other, rather than the SISTERS that they are. Lutie Dunlap was never married, and Leona Dunlap was married to Fred H. Peabody.

My interest in correcting this is that the mother of Leona and Lutie Dunlap was my great grandfather Willaim Hurst's sister - Geneva (Jennie) Hurst Dunlap.

Thanks very much,
Bob Turpin

Regarding Thomas M Hickman, Memorial #58187068 and Memorial #93325815
My 2nd Great Grandfather, Thomas M Hickman, was born in Kentucky (probably Mason County), 19 Feb 1806 and died 12 Sep 1883 in Buchanan County, Missouri (probably in Bloomington). He was married to Sarah (Sallie) Houser (1809-1837), and to Mary Jane Wilson (1820-1891). We believe that his middle name is “Milton”.

Somehow, it appears that Thomas M Hickman has 2 separate entries in Find-A-Grave (Memorial #58187068, created by Chris, and Memorial #93325815, created by Linda Doile Morris). Both Thomas M Hickman and Thomas McGinnis Hickman are linked to the grave of Mary Jane Wilson Hickman.

Obviously, there are some things that need to be converted / clarified / corrected / consolidated. I’m sending this to both Chris and Linda Doile Morris and requesting the following:

• Please consolidate these entries into 1
entry so that we can avoid confusion,
resulting in only one Grave Memorial
number!
• Please select one caretaker / sponsor to
be responsible for taking care of this
Find-A-Grave entry.
• Please verify Thomas M Hickman’s middle
name. Chris just has the initial “M”.
Linda Doile Morris has the name
“McGinnis”. Several other independent
researchers / relatives believe that his
middle name is “Milton”.

Additionally, I had contacted Chris on 14 Aug 2014 with the following message, but have not had a response:

I’m researching my Great-Great Grandfather,
Thomas Milton Hickman. Find-A-Grave
attributes the information for him to you,
as of 04 September 2010.

The information you have provided reads as
a contemporary tribute and I was wondering
where you found the information. Would you
mind letting me know about your citation?

Thank you in advance, you’ve obviously done
a lot of very good work!

With Warm Regards,

Jeff Bradley
