John Booth
I noticed you requested a photo for John Booth in Brookside cemetery. I added a picture to this memorial on October 1, 2014. Would you like another picture added? Is there something special you are looking for?

RE: Barnes family of Franklin TN
On that particular outing to Cowan in January I was doing some research on "Prince" which are also in Paint Rock Valley; I still have some more work to do on that one. In the process of walking the cemetery I photographed a few others plus some other family related surnames. This particular Barnes was a random mainly because of its age and good readability - it's in the old part of the cemetery.
I'll look into this some and let you know -

While Cowan has a lot of headstone pictures on Find A Grave it has a long way to go - when it's warm I'll go back and photograph some more for Find A Grave.

There seems to be some continuity of early pioneers between Franklin County, TN and the neighboring Paint Rock Valley area to the south, over the hill - some perhaps because of the civil war?, where folks went to the hills to hide from the federals -- although there was a large federal encampment in the southern end of Paint Rock Valley.
And, I might add, a lot of moonshining went on in Paint Rock Valley during prohibition.
BTW, are you familiar with the Paint Rock Valley Lodge? a great place to visit - tucked away and low key so to speak - not a lot of people know about it - we attend a McElyea Reunion there every summer.

RE: Reunion
The Shill reunion went well last year 2014 in Bay St Louis, MS. Unfortunately Tom Snider passed away after the reunion last year. He was the only son of Sarah "Sally" Shill Snider. She had remarried but I can't remember late "senior" moment! 😱 We did not have a reunion this year. You can call most any time at home.601-483-1359.
I do have a list of Shill family names & addresses but I've had a computer problem & can't access list. I had to buy new computer Win 8.1 & can't get to my data files. It has been pits. Can't get my Family Tree up either!! 😢😢
Call me.

RE: 105804815 Green Martha A
That's OK...are you related on the James side or Green side? If on the James side do you have any info or know where Joseph Berry James (her brother)and Mary Ann Ridge James or her father Joseph James and Rachel Berry James might be buried?? Also would you share your Green family genealogy with me? You may contact me thru my personal e-mail address. Thank you for responding.

If this isn't your family, would you please transfer to me? This is a great-aunt of my fathers. Thanks.

Thank you for the info at Harrison Cemetery, Franklin Co. I'm from WV and made a trip to Tenn looking for family at various cemeteries. On the day I was at Harrison it was a rainy nasty day and I didn't stay as long as I wanted. The James & Martha Green are family. She was the aunt of Lawrence James (who's marker I did find) and grand aunt of my father. Looking forward to finding more "family" at the cemeteries in Franklin & Grundy Co.

RE: Vogeli
I just completed transferring the Vogeli memorials to you.
I also did the 2 young boys as their names are on the same marker.
I'm assuming they are Henry & Elizabeth's sons, but don't know for sure.
If you know you could link them to their parents.

RE: Vogeli
I just happened to be in the cemetery looking for markers for a friend and started taking pictures of memorials that captured my attention.
Are you related? I am not related to the Vogeli's and would be more then happy to transfer their memorials to you.

Shill Family
Hi Sherri,
Congratulations on your DAR membership. Who did you join on?
Now you can join the UDC Organization too on your great great great grandfather John Alexander SHILL. He served in the Gid Nelson Company in Alabama.
He is buried in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Birmingham, AL. John's memorial is on Find A Grave, ID #83395333.
Wish you could come to reunion. I heard that Patrick was out of hospital. Pray he recuperates soon.
Love, Sandy & Ben

RE: D.A.R.
yes, I am a DAR member but I'm not related by Shill/Gaddis I only married into family (Shill/Gaddis) Do you still need my DAR #.
I don't think Mary Ruth is a DAR member but her mother, Ann Shill Mayerhoff was a member. I think she got membership on the Clayton side but Mary Ruth can tell you better than I.
