Bio and Links
Bio Photo ******PLEASE READ!***** I do have photos for all memorials I have made this year- 2013. It's not my intention for people to have to request the photos through the request feature for memorials I have made and already have photos for. If you need a photo sooner than I can get it posted, send me a sac and I will look it up and post it for you. I still have 1100 photos to go through, so it's going to take some time, but I will add it sooner for the sac requests. I thought it would be better for people to find their family if I posted the memorial first, then add the photo later. But, it takes this old computer a little longer for the photos. Thanks!*****Update****** It's taking me quite a bit longer to post the photos thanks to my crummy satellite service. Lately, it's only been letting me post a few pics at a time. So sorry it's taking me so long! After next year I am hoping to be able to ditch this satellite for fiberoptic. That will be wonderful!*********

I started doing this because I wanted to help people find their ancestors. Some do not know where a particular ancestor may have been. I will consider transfers to family, outside the guidelines, but please be kind when asking and give your relationship? No relatonship, no transfer. Also, no second party transfer requests. The person who wants the memorial, should be the one requesting. Also, while it's nice to manage your ancestors memorials, think if it's really necessary beyond the fag guidelines. I do not manage all my relatives, nor do I expect to. Mass transfers will not be considered.

******I can not and will not do genealogy research on every single one of my memorials. Not that I don't love doing it, but I just don't have the time right now. I will gladly enter or change anything sent to me through the SAC though and occasionally I will do some research. But I am not required to do it.

You are welcome to use the pictures I post for your personal use, and also on Ancestry, if you have a tree there. Please give me credit though if you do add them to Ancestry and elsewhere. Also, before saving the picture, be sure to click on it first. That takes you to a larger version, and if you click on it again, an even larger one. Right click and save.

Please contact me through the edit tab on the memorial for all you may want done with the memorial. Transfers, add information, links, etc. Please don't just add information to your flowers. I usually check my e-mail at least once a day and it doesn't take long for me to add or whatever it is you want. Thanks!

The following is from the Find A Grave FAQ:
(How do I get a relative's memorial transferred to me?
First, Determine if you really need the memorial transferred to you for management. Transferring of management should only be requested If you have extensive changes to make to a memorial. You can add photos and suggest corrections without having to request management. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request. With hundreds of thousands of contributors, we have many overlapping family trees and it would be impossible for all contributors to manage their entire tree.

Second, Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Third, If you have extensive additions/changes to make to a memorial, please contact the Find A Grave member who created the memorial via the "Suggest a Correction" link under the "Edit" tab on the memorial in question with your request to have the memorial management transferred to you. This will send an email request to the contributor, even if there is not an email address listed on their contributor page.

Fourth, Explain your relationship in the request! Any non-direct relatives (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc) are not required to be transferred. Keep in mind that the original contributor may also be related to the memorial and may not make the transfer. Bulk surname requests should not be made. Be advised that memorials listed as famous or maintained by Find A Grave will not be transferred.

Fifth, The "Suggest a correction" feature may also be used to submit corrections, an original biography, and family links to memorials that do not fall under the above definition. (Be sure to include the memorial ID#s for the family links and how they are related, father, mother or spouse. The original contributor should make any corrections and add any additional information you have for that memorial, such as links to parents and spouses, provided the information is accurate.

NOTE: If you are unable to edit a memorial after it has been transferred to your account, try logging out of Find A Grave then logging back in.

What if a member will not transfer my relative to me?
If the memorial in question is a direct relative within four generations (siblings, parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents) to you and the original submitter is not direct family, then your wishes supersede theirs under our "Family First" policy. If they refuse to transfer your relative to you, contact the administration and we will work on it for you.
Please remember that there are thousands of contributors to Find A Grave, and it is highly likely that some of those contributors will actually be part of your family tree and share some of your ancestors.
Also, the goal is not to "own" every memorial of those to whom you are related. The ultimate goal should be to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, regardless of who created the memorial or who maintains it.}

Some of the names I am researching as part of my family are: Gilbert, Markley, Wolf, Toms, Triggs, McPherson, VanSickle, Ellis, Smith, Bricker, Clark, Canaday, Stratton, King, Peters, Clodfelter, Eldredge, Thornton, Kirk, Sharp, and Hanlin, to name a few.

Also, I am researching my husbands family, Bohling, Shepherd, Sands, Jeans, Schroeder, Mueller, Ransdell, Brunkhorst, Lindenmeyer, Meisenbach, Trimpler and Harden.

I am slowly learning though. Sometimes it's better to get a photo first before you claim it.

I am sorry I sound so hard-nosed above, I'm really not like that...but when people push your buttons too much.....

Transfer X 2
Hello Diana,
Thank you so very much for your generosity in transferring both Joseph Higgins Edwards and his wife Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" Lemmon to my care. I have now successfully connected them, and as more information comes my way and time permits, will be adding to OUR memorials.
Your willingness to share is much appreciated.
With regards and sincerest thanks,
Marcia

RE: Re: Kelly Cemetery
I did look for Nathan and Nancy and couldn't find them. I know I was in the right place. The cemetery is relatively small and I looked through it all two times and the older section three or four. All stones that had inscriptions could be read (names and/or dates). There are a few stones that have no inscriptions and a few graves that have no stones.

RE: Re: Mathias Wittlinger
Hi Diana, I know of at least two George Wittlingers. George Wittlinger (1882-1961) was the son of Michael Wittlinger and Anna Hobig. George J. Wittlinger (born 1865) was the son of Mathias. I'd love to see the death certificate if you would like to share. Any pictures of Mathias? I have one of Michael and his whole family, George was the youngest and only son. I should post it to Findagrave. Thanks! Jean
