RE: Silas Kindred Bush
Hi Diane,
I love doing research not only on my family but I'm always willing to help others. My niece is going to college in Jacksonville, FL, plus I have other family and friends there - talk about a small world!! :-)
I was born and grew up in Americus, GA and when I was researching I did find Addie on the 1940 census aa living in Americus. The census did indicate that in 1935 she lived in Washington, DC with her son William McCorkle. The 1940 census had her and William both as widows and living with daughter/sister Annie M Thompson who was also a widower with 4 children living at home. Census listed her name as Addie J Bush.
I did find an Addie J Bush who died in Glynn County, GA on 04 Jul 1962 and it indicated she was 90 years old, which would make her birth year around 1852. Not sure if that's the same Addie. I did surf find a grave for her but could not find. I'll do some more surfing to see if I can find more information. I live up around the Atlanta, GA area and keep telling myself I need to go visit the Georgia Archives but I have a 5 year old who keeps me busy. The next time I visit Americus, GA I will go to the libary and see what I can find. My mom still lives there and I try to visit her at least once a month.
I will go in right now and transfer the memorials I have and maybe you can ask the other person who controls his first wife and children to transfer also. Call me crazy, but I believe family should be with family - even if it's just a memorial.
I will keep working on this. It's a rainly day here and we're all trying to keep busy to keep from getting cabin fever. :-)

RE: Silas Kindred Bush
Hi Diane,
Thanks for giving me something to do. I really do enjoy doing research. :-)
Not sure what info you may already have but what I have found so far is:
Marriage certificate in Randolph County, GA for:
S. K. Bush and F. B. Mitchum married 06 Dec 1876.
Later found that to be Fredonia Mitchiner, Mitchener or Mitchner.
There is a grave for:
Fredona S Bush
b. Nov 12, 1841
d. Dec 11, 1883
buried at Benevolence Church Cemetery, Randolph County, GA.
There are also two children buried at the same cemetery.
Kenneth Mitchner Bush
b. July 22, 1879
d. Aug 3, 1879
D. Merle Bush
d. Apr 26, 1881
d. Aug 3, 1881
Second marriage certificate in Randolph County, GA is for:
S. K. Bush and J. W. Jordan married 24 Apr 1884.
Julia Jordan Bush died 01 Jan 1900 and on the 1900 census it has Addie as wife. The census was dated 13 June 1900 so Silas and Addie married sometime inbetween Jan and Jun of that year. Census also indicates Addie had been married before and had a child - William McCorkle. Silas also had a daughter from marriage with Julia. Daughter was named Alma - she was born Nov 1885.
1910 census record indicates Silas had been married twice but he had been married 3 times unless he didn't count Fredonia since they did not produce any children that lived to adulthood? Or he wasn't counting his current marriage. However, Addie lists as being married twice also.
All the graves I located and was able to connect I have do so on Silas. I did send a request to have his 2 children with Fredonia connected to him - will have to wait to see it that happens.
Hope this information has helped and if you would like me to transfer Silas to you, just let me know because I don't believe I am related. If I find any more information, I will let you know.
