April 25, 2011: Mom's father Donald Austin Armstrong

Update on Grandma Frannie:
She is recently home (for the 2nd time) from the nursing home and is getting physical therapy. Frannie was starting to get on her feet, and recuperating from her accident. She was so happy to be be able to live at home and have her dad with her again.

Frannie took very good care of him for the past 7 years, after her Mother passed away. She took her responsibility of looking after Grandpa very seriously. Before he got the pacemaker, his heart would stop and he passed out. Several times he got terrible injuries. Every time she nursed him until he was strong again. She made sure he got good medical care and didn't let any thing go unattended. She fought with the Ins. Co. to get him a pacemaker.

He was doing quite good, after he got the pacemaker. He used to go to do his strength training 3 times a week and a balance class 1 time a week. Frannie got him a gym membership 2 years ago and she drove him faithfully, until her accident, then we took him. On the days he didn't go to his gym, he walked outside and used his cross-country and bike at home. He was doing very good. His mind was very sharp and he was happy that he could do nearly everything for himself.

Recently Grandpa had a bad fall and he passed away a few hours later. Frannie always put Grandpa before herself. Now she is not eating, having trouble sleeping and cries easily. She blames herself, as she thinks she should have prevented the fall. My dad (her son) says she is not to blame and she could never have prevented the fall. Grandpa was very strong and doing well, until the fall. It was unexpected, we weren't prepared. We expected that he would have many good years left. We lost our Grandpa, I can't believe he is gone.

Grandma Frannie is devastated and still in shock. We need her help with his memorial, so it's up but not complete yet. The world has lost a beautiful soul.

Your kind flowers and messages, have truly touched our hearts and you are a really big comfort to our family.

We will try to visit your loved ones as often as we can.

Thank you for your prayers. GOD BLESS YOU. Gracie and our family.

Hi! I've left this info on the edit tab of the memorial, also. Please, please could you update Manny's info. He was a friend of my mom and dad.

Born in Leslie, Searcy County, Arkansas
Died in Delano, Kern County, California
Link to wife Ada # 67619062

Manuel Aaron was born May 30, 1910 in Leslie, Searcy County, Arkansas the son of James Aaron and Mattie (Goodman)) Aaron and passed away Feb 5, 1998 in Delano, Kern County, California. He was preceded in death by his wife Ada (Morgan) Aaron in 1973.

Manuel worked for the U. S. Bureau of Reclamation as Canal Superintendent in Delano. He served in that position from the time the Kern Canal was put in operation until his retirement in 1971. He also served in the U.S. Army holding the rank of First Lieutenant. He belonged to Fresno Scottish Rite as well as Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Manuel left behind his special friend Pauline Thompson as well as many friends, nieces, and nephews. Pauline died later that year in Delano.

I thank you so much for your help.

Thank you!
Hello,

Thanks so much for the obituary for Peggy Aaron. I had been talking to the cemetery about the location of Virgil's stone and they told me about Peggy.

Are you related?

Thanks again!

Hello again,

I wrote you before regarding the above person.
If you would rather keep her in your care I understand. Just thought that you would like to know that her birthday was July 9, 1903. I will delete the record I have as it is a duplicate and my record was entered after yours. Thanks very much.

Hello,

The above grave is in your care, I believe. I have been told that I entered her name as a duplicate. I will delete the one that I entered
in 2012 She was my husband's Step Grandmother.
I have more information, such as her date of birth etc. Would you kindly transfer her grave to me, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks so much.
