Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have always had this curiosity about graves everytime I pass a small family grave wondering what their story was. I hope that I can help contribute to someones search. Besides, I need a hobby. I currently live in Rockingham County, NC. Was born in Ellerbe,NC in the sandhills. Well, actually, to be specific, in the Moore County hospital which I guess was the closest hospital at the time. When I was about 6, we moved to Greensboro. Grew up and went to school there. Got married in 1981 and after having a couple of kids , we moved to Reidsville for the schools and the wife's work. We have been here ever since.
You are welcome to use any pictures that I have taken that are attached to memorials for your own family trees. I would appreciate credit for the picture.

Reidlawn v. Pleasant Grove
Thanks for the information.

I have researched the issue and here are my conclusions and suggestions:
(1) fact - Aug 1956 JBB survey recorded burial of 1st wife with gravestone in PG and also her husband's gravestone with a DOB but no DOD in PG
(2) 1st wife died 1935 buried in PG according to DC & 1956 survey
(3) husband remarries and dies 25 years later so "new" wife chooses to bury him in Reidlawn were she joins him 30 years later
(4) 1st wife is buried in PG and husband's PG burial site is a cenotaph
(5) husband is buried in Reidlawn and 1st wife site in Reidlawn is a cenotaph (unless other info available to support she was moved).

I have designated husband's PG memorial a cenotaph and request (1) memorials created for both in Reidlawn with 1st wife designated a cenotaph with hyperlinks to PG memorial and I will hyperlink husband cenotaph PG memorial to Reidlawn memorial (2) remove photos from PG memorials, since they are not of PG, and place on Reidlawn memorials.

Aug 1956 survey is available online if you wish to verify.

Thanks again.

Mabe Family
Mr. Jones,
My name is Patsy Hall Ligon. You have entered it in as The Mabe Family Cemetery the correct name is The Old Sandy Cross Cemetery. I don't know who is telling you that this is the name but its not. I have the deed to this cemetery. This is where the old church use to be many many years ago before they built the new church at the corner of Vernon and sandy cross rds. If you have any questions please contact meI just want the correct name on here please. My father is buried here Richard Felix Hall you can look on his page and read the correct name of this cemetery. Again please contact me when any questions.

Request of removal of Obit scan
First off, let me say I appreciate the the work you do of finding Obits for the memorials on Findagrave. I know it is hard work, because I do it myself. However Findagrave has sent me a message stating that they will block me from my entered Memorials and stop my membership if I scan any Obits to my memorials. Let me explain, I have over 43,000 memorials and my goal is to enter a written obit for each. I scanned over 15,000 obits, which Findagrave has removed with the above warning.

At one time I scanned obits to memorials, I had added thousands. But Findagrave sent me and ultimatum, which stated if I did not stop they would cancel my membership and block me from my memorials. They have removed all my scanned obit to my memorial to date. I am under a micro scope for some reason. So I no longer scan obits to memorials. I try to conform to the rules and do not want to take a chance on being blocked. I have begun rewritting all the obits, as required, not mentioning any living person, on my memorials, but it will take quite a while. So please do not scan obits to my memorials. If you will send it to me via the edit, I will be glad to rewrite it and give you credit. Regards.

RE: Church ??
I'm not sure, but the church and/or cemetery may have been changed over time or is no longer there. Since the obit give the name of the funeral home, I'd contact them:

Wilkerson Funeral Home
1909 Richardson Dr
Reidsville, NC 27320

Greeview New Sign
Thanks so much for posting the new Greenview Cemetery sign. It has taken them long enough to put up a new sign.
