Hello. Thank you for posting the photos of Rebecca E. Garrison, her friends, and her tombstone.
I'm writing a book on the Logan family (which includes the Garrison's) and I'd like to use the photographs with your permission.
Thank you for your consideration of this request.

I noticed that you have added a photo of John Sanders at Find A Grave 44432212. Would you happen to know why he died? Was it the flu epidemic of 1918? Do you happen to have an obit?

Hi Peg Farley!
I am doing genealogy on Louise Dorothy Reichart Manning b.1868 (Justina Caroline Lietzke Reichart's b. 1836 daughter). Louis Henderson signed Louise's memorial book, "Lewis Henderson 1st cousin." Louise and Louis were living in Wichita, KS at Louise's death in 1948. Adaline and Justina Lietzke must be sisters. I found this fact Feb 23, 2014. I am still investigating my leads.
I have old unidentified photos, in excellent condition, of persons in MO, KS and unlisted cities, on hard cardboard mounting. These persons would be born between 1800 and 1900. Would you be interested in looking at these portrait photographs and seeing if you could identify any of them? Perhaps you know someone who could help me.

I am thrilled that we have made this connection too! Glad it has peaked your hubby's interest. Perhaps, it is because he and I are both Capricorns. hehe
Jessica Franks is how I found out so much information. Her relationship is thru Catherine Farney Stannard.
The only missing info on relatives is William and Nora. Regarding William, I have tried a Find A Grave at the Leavenworth National Cemetery but no
luck. So, I am going to try Funeral Homes in Wadsworth. As to Nora, she attend my grandmother's funeral in 1953 and is listed as Mrs. Nora Winters, Wichita, KS; but didn't attend James funeral in 1956. I have tried the cemeteries in Wichita with no luck. And, I tried a wider search for her on Find A Grave with no luck; her husband was Harry Winters and I can't find him either.
Hope we can keep in contact via email. Would you like my personal one? Hugs, karla

Thank you for the info you provided. I know sometimes you believe you have found your lost relatives only to discover it is not. I am rather confident that we are related. This is based on James Sr. attending his sister, my grandmother, Anna's funeral in 1956; as well as his sister, Catherine Stannard in 1935. I have been provided with the newspaper obits.
For comparisons: here is what I know: Anna born in 1879 in Springfield, IL; Mamie born in 1884 in Springfield, IL; William born in 1888 est. in Springfield, IL; Elizabeth born in 1889 est. in Springfield, IL; Catherine born in 1891 in Oklahoma; Nora born in 1894 in Oklahoma; Grace born in 1898 in Oklahoma; James born in 1901 in Oklahoma.
My info says his mother died of childbirth complications after James Sr. birth. and the father fell apart. Catherine, Grace and Nora were sent to a convent; and, no info on where James was sent.
I am really sorry to hear about William. He did live with his sister Anna and her husband, my grandfather John Johnson, according to a 1910 census. Does any of this coincide with your information. Regarding James Sr. would his middle name be Joseph? Again, any help is greatly appreciated. karla

Hi Peg! Thx for responding. I have a lot of questions; and I hope you or your husband will be able to fill in some of the blanks. Does anyone know the DOB; DOD of great-grandfather John H Farney? and his wife?? Was her name Elizabeth Anora? and where are they buried? Also, any info on James SR.'s brother William? and sister Nora?
Finally, James J. seems to be a family name. What is J stand for?
I will be grateful for whatever information you can provide. And, I am so excited to make a new family connection. I guess that is part of the fun in an Ancestry search. My birthdate is Jan. 7, 1947; by any chance is your hubby born around that time too?
You have done a great a wonderful job on the Find A Grave!

Hello Peggy! My grandmother is Anna Farney Johnson and she is the oldest sister to James Farney who died in 1956. I have been trying to find out information about this side of my family. Perhaps, you might be able to fill in many of the blanks. At your leisure, please respond. Thanks. Karla [Thompson] Balsamo
