RE: Emma Deaton
Hi Paul
Thank you for writing back to me. My Uncle Jack, who is the grandson of Lena Clema King and Cleveland Leach, and I have been doing Ancestry. com for quite a few years. We have been having so much fun finding out about our past relatives! We both have trees on Ancestry.com. Do you have a tree on Ancestry?
My Uncle Jack has heard through the years that his family is part native American Indian but we haven't found any proof in the census's on Ancestry or anywhere else. My Uncle Jack even did the dna with Ancestry and National Geographic and both show we are about 98% english on his fathers side. I don't know if American Indian shows up in the dna studies that he did since they are done to show where we came from. I was wondering how you found out that Grandpa King is part Native American. I've seen on a us pension index that as a widow Nancy Caroline (Evans) King files in 1892 in Georgia for pension for her deceased husband John J. King for fighting in the Indian Wars. I also have found that his father John King and mother Elizabeth ( Dubose) King get land in 1832 in the Georgia Cherokee Land Lottery in Monroe Georgia but I haven't found anything to show that the King family is American Indian. My Uncle Jack I would love to find out if we are American Indian.
I enjoyed the story that you told about the joking! My family has always loved to tell jokes. Especially Uncle Jack! haha! He is going to be so excited when I tell him that I have heard back from you!
I hope to hear back from you soon!

Joseph Milton King
Thank you so much for putting a picture of Joseph Milton King's head stone on find a grave. Joseph is my great great grandfather. His daughter Lena Clema King is my great grandmother and her son Milton Leach is my grandfather. Are you related to the King family? That would be great to find another family member.
Thanks again!
Rhonda
