Desperately Seeking Sousleys and Omeys.
I hate bleach and wire brushes.
Interested in Harman, Basinger, Gosline, Campbell, Omey, Madden, Howard, Wiser, Smith, Stump/Radford, Stark, Garber, Sousley, Russell, and Enloe to name a few. (my goal is to find all of my immigrant ancestors)
Most of the memorials I manage are my kin, so I'm not likely to transfer out, however FAG rules on transfers will be respected.
If you are kin to anyone I have in a virtual cemetery, we must be cousins no matter how distant.
I am protective of my kinfolks, living and otherwise. If you see a memorial in my care and have info to share, I am grateful. If you have a grave photo to add for one, thank you, but only if there is no other grave photo (and PLEASE! if you feel the need to clean a stone, a NYLON BRUSH is a good start. PLASTIC SCRAPER may also be used. NON-SUDSING UNSCENTED AMMONIA and LOW-PRESSURE RINSE WATER will do a lot of good on lichen and moss. Other chemicals, metal tools, and pressure washers will DESTROY stone grave markers). Original portraits of the deceased are great, but no group photos with persons still living. If you have candids or documents, please ask. I'm generally easy going.

Jonathan, I am unsure what you are asking. When I list someone it is usually using a DC or at the very least an obituary or a photo of the stone. I use the census records as well. I am only related to the Campbells by marriage and am not a direct descendant, however I have traced most of the family and have them in my database.
I see that you found, took a photo, and added Catherine Amos last May (thank you for that). I would suggest that you add her place of birth and death that are listed on her DC as well. I would have hoped that her husband Moses was also buried in Campbell cemetery, but it seems that you were unable to find his marker. According to census records he died sometime before 1900.
If you are talking about Catherine J. Campbell(1862-1889), I believe she is on the 1880 census with her husband William Amos and I believe I got her birth & Death info from another researcher (however I can not find any notes telling me where or from whom). The Abraham Campbell family is not on the 1870 census (as far as I have found). By looking at the 1910 census of the William Amos family however, we see that Rebecca Campbell is living with the family and is listed as Grandmother. She is Abraham's second wife and would be the grandmother of William Amos & Catherine J. Campbell's children (Lizzie, Benjamin, & Charles).

Glad to help, Jonathan. You might also look at Zion's 1850 census in Mercer Co. IL. It appears he may have been living with a brother, William who also later went to Arkansas. Sometimes it helps to trace the siblings when you cannot find the parents of your direct ancestor.

Ancestry.com does not have the full pension file, only the index card. Here is the link to order his entire pension file from the National Archives. Follow the instructions about half way down the page where it reads "Military Pension/Bounty Land Warrant Applications". Using Form 85, you want the complete Civil War and later pension application file, not the pension document packet. Congrats on the 1900 census find for Zion Omey. Did you see him in the 1890 Oklahoma Territory Census in Guthrie? He also drew a pension for his military service in Company A of the 1st Arkansas Infantry during the Civil War. You might send for a copy from the National Archives. Union pension files are a genealogical gold mine.

I have read from a couple sources that Archie's parents/family were from Stokes, North Carolina and moved to Moniteau Co. Mo. in the mid 1840s and later to Johnson Co. Mo. in the 1850s. Being that he was born in 1846 is probably how I placed him there. He was from a big family and had siblings both from NC and Mo. I will do some further research.
