I am a member of TIPCOA here in Tippecanoe County and have been for several years. I also volunteer at the genealogy library (time permitting). Mine and my husband's families all settled in the Tippecanoe, Boone, Clinton, Montgomery,Hendricks, Jefferson and Bartholomew Counties. I am interested in finding out as much information as I can on my family. I had several great grandfathers who served in the Revolutionary, Civil Wars.

RE: I O O F Cemetery
Yes. I O O F Cemetery is just off of N. Jackson street on Morrison Street. It really is a pretty large cemetery for being in town.

I know, gets so confusing, so many with same names, locations! And yes I have found books, stories even have errors. Yeah, John Pond was her Brother, another Brother, William Watson, was Union POW, died of Starvation, Richmond, Virginia, just found all the Widow Pension's. She also had 3 Sister's, one I have found little info on.

RE: Mechanicsburg Cemetery
Dalene, My wife's cousin's husband is descended from Isaac an Mary Jane Anderson Bennett. Rick's son and I visited the cemetery yesterday...what a beautiful spot, and very well maintained. I haven't found much on Emaline Cuddy but will keep you in mind as I continue to search. Thanks for the info and your help. Chuck

RE: Mechanicsburg Cemetery
My cousins husband's line goes back to the Bennett family. His maternal 2nd great grandparents were Isaac and Mary Jane Anderson Bennett, both buried in Mechanicsburg. Isaac's parents were David Britton and Elizabeth Enyert Bennett. David's parents were William (1742-1828) and Adria Ann Britton Bennett. They are both buried in Warren County, Ohio. I believe the William Bennett (1817-1898) buried in Mechanicsburg is the son of Nicholas. Nicholas and David Britton were brothers. I have the directions to the cemetery. I understand it is behind a log home on the highway. Is this where the gentleman we need to check-in with lives? Thanks for your help and enjoy the day with your grandkids! Chuck

Mechanicsburg Cemetery
Good morning. I noticed in a posting to Lee Drew that you have family buried in the Mechanicsburg Cemetery in Boone County. Several cousins and I are planning to visit the cemetery soon. I understand the cemetery is on private property. Do we need landowner permission to access it? Do you know the landowners name and how I can contact them? I also understand the cemetery is in disrepair. I noticed a Boy Scout plaque on one of the cemetery photos. Are there still active organizations that are maintaining the cemetery? We have relatives buried at Mechanicsburg...Anderson and Bennett and possibly others. Thanks for your help. Chuck

RE: Tell Street
I don't have a listing for this cemetery. I am scanning the newspapers for burials here. If I run across them, I will let you know. A search on the name "Street" brings up thousands of results as you can imagine! Do you have a date of death on either of them? That would help narrow the search.
