You are very welcome. I've been working on documenting Masonic Cemetery, I have some family there. It was a beautiful day in the Ozarks, so I drove out to photograph stones

RE: PVT Edward J Gay
The photo doesn't have any names on it to prove it is Ed Gay. I purchase WW1 postcard photos in Spfld and then compare the photos to the WW1 Greene County Honor Roll book of photos. I have matched over 30 photos this way to the person in the book. The photo next to the postcard photo is from the honor roll and appeared to be a match to Ed Gay. Since you're family I'll let you decide if it is your Grandfather.
If you think it's your grandpa, I'll send it to you. I wouldn't take money for a family's photo. Send me your address and I'll mail it and the documents I have for him.

RE: PVT Edward J Gay
I live in Springfield, Mo and collect photos of local WW1 soldiers. I found the photo at a flea market, and found a similar photo in the Greene County Honor Roll for WW1. I'm glad you found it on this website.

Lena and my grandmother were born about the same time(03-04) and were first cousins. My grandmother taught in the St James school district for forty years. I understand Lena taught in the school system for decades also. Their homes were within 800 feet of each other. That said, they apparently didn't know each other very well. I had never heard of Lena until I started researching the family tree four or five years ago.

The tragedy! Lena's lot joined the place where we built and have lived since 1990. I remember meeting the lady, but she didn't mention we were related. She passed ten years after we moved into our home. What a loss for me and especially for our boys.

My grandmother did tell me that she was too young to know her dad(Albert) as he died when she was two. Also that she never knew her grandma and grandpa Rieck, even though they lived in the same community. She never talked of it so I was not aware of her aunts and uncles. She may not have known them either.
