I have always been interested in searching family histories. I recently lost my brother, father, and grandmother in less than 9 years. I think this site is a wonderful way to see relatives headstones and reconnect with the past.

My mother and I work with each other on find a grave as we search out our history

Looking forward to helping out with any photo requests in the Stanton area.

James Maulden - Methodist Episcopal Church cemetery
Hi, I saw your memorial for James Maulden in the cemetery it looks like you created...Methodist Episcopal Church cemetery in Andersonville, Cherokee County, GA.

Your info says the cemetery is in Alpharetta and you mention not being able to find Alpharetta on the pull down menu for Cherokee County so I assume that's why you put Andersonville instead. The cemetery isn't in Andersonville and I seriously doubt it is in present day Cherokee County although it might have been at one time.

Alpharetta used to be in Cherokee County. I believe it was 1870 that you referenced. However, county boundaries changed over time and Alpharetta is currently part of Fulton County so you should change your memorial and cemetery location to reflect that and perhaps someone can locate it there - they won't locate it as you currently have it listed since the location is incorrect. I hope this information is helpful.

Memorial for Milbury Mauldin Lauderdale
Lana, thank you very much for the memorial page for Milbury Mauldin Lauderdale.

The page shows Milbury linked to a John W. Lauderdale as her husband, a man who was born in 1768 and died in Sumner Co., Tennessee, in 1853.

This was not the John Lauderdale who was Milbury Mauldin's husband. The 1800 census (Pendleton Dist., SC) and subsequent censuses show that Milbury's husband John Lauderdale was born before 1745. On the 1830 census, John and Milbury are, it's pretty clear, the elderly couple living with their son John Gamble Lauderdale in Limestone Co., Alabama.

John's age is 80-89 on this census, indicating he was born 1740-1750. The John W. Lauderdale born in 1768, who died in Sumner Co., Tennessee, is a different man than Milbury's husband.

John and Milbury both disappear from the census after 1830 in Limestone Co., Alabama, and I think it's very likely they died and were buried in Limestone County betwee 1830-1840.

I've never seen any document giving the John Lauderdale who was Milbury's husband a middle name or a middle initial. If it's possible to unlink Milbury from John W. Lauderale in Sumner Co., Tennessee, I'd appreciate it, as a descendant of John and Milbury.

Ida Crowe St. Margarets Cemetery
Could you please check your information on her. I could find no record for her in 1990 under that name in the cemetery office.

Mauldin posts
I am curious as to the source of these posts. I don't doubt they are buried in the Harris Family Cemetery - But just where is the Harris Family Cemetery? I am very familiar with the area around Harris Hollow and have never heard of this cemetery. I thought maybe you had visited there and could enlighten me so I can visit and photograph the stones.

I just discovered the duplication of our records. You have much more information posted. At the time that I entered my record for Francis Mauldin, I did not have much to post and have have kinda burned out. Anyway I will gladly delete my record but thought you may not have a copy of the memorial photo. My husband is gggrandson to Francis (James, James, Roy, Tulon and then Benny. Me being the spouse, I'm sure the records are more dear to you.

Love you hear from you. Margie Mauldin

photo request for David Mauldin
Hi, I went out to Smith Cemetery today and found a site for Sarah Mauldin and a D. Elie Mauldin 1860-1929. I believe this to be your David Elijah as they are buried side by side with a single stone. If you agree then I will fulfill this request (pictures already taken). You can see the photo on Sarah's page as it is a double site with one stone.

George Houston Hunt photo request
I posted the headstone photo for George H. Hunt. He is buried next to Sarah E. Hunt in the Hunt Plot of section 43.

Do you know if Sarah is his wife? There was no memorial for her so I made one. If she is his wife I would like to link her memorial to his. Her memorial is #124135810.

Hope this helps you.

George Houston Hunt photo request
I just claimed your photo request for George Houston Hunt. I looked at my older records and find him in that cemetery buried in Section 43.
I sent you an edit so you can add the section to his memorial. (I love this new EDIT feature Find A Grave has added)...!

I was planning on going out to the cemetery tomorrow for other photos and will see if I can find a headstone for him.

This is such a large cemetery so that is why I try to add the locations to the memorial pages.

Will see what I can find for you tomorrow.
