Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am constantly tramping through cemeteries in Starke and Lake Counties, Indiana, looking for relatives for the family tree. If I can help someone else in the process, I'd be glad to. If someone wants a memorial transferred, just ask. I'm focusing on the last names of Gappa, Lemke, Huebner, Schacht, Keehn, Byer, Haley, Helms, Wilhelm, Schnaufer, Kaiser, Swatts, Brooke, and Vanaman.

Mary Jane Blowney (Chappell)
Andy,
You have Mary Jane's birth year as 1844. She immigrated to the US, arriving abourd the Andrew Foster, on August 14, 1849. My 3rd great grandfather, Benjamin Gibson Blowney, was also abourd. He was listed as being 16, and she 18. My ggg grandfather was born on January 6, 1834, so, if this record is correct, she would have been born in 1832. Was this a date that you got directly off of the headstone?

A note about the slot in her headstone. Our monument guy thinks that at one time there was a decal/badge of some kind attached here but as the stone is a secondary stone on the grave and located in the path of the mowers, it long ago was ripped off. Sad, wonder what society she might have belonged to.

RE: the Simmons stones
No! problem... I'm more than happy to see others are now connecting. So-much still to do in the Roselawn Cemetery & not sure what is ahead? Making new Discoveries is always thee Best. I love doing this work. :)
