Bio Photo My name is Julrene (Olson) Thornberg. I got interested in Genealogy in 2000 when my family bought me a genealogy family kit and gave me an old computer, which I had never used ever.
Threw the years my mother had given me family obits which I threw in a shoe box, wondering what I was going to do with them?
In 2000 I was contacted by a distant relatives in Minnesota who wanted my information. That got me looking at all the old obits and off I went! Couldn't stop looking for the old folks that went before.
I spent 6 weeks in 2005 in my travel trailer in Minnesota looking for relatives in cemetery's,at the historical museum for anything like birth, baptismal & death records. Calling on the phone asking people if they might be related to me and could I have their family information.
I found many family relatives that I have met and am still contacted with. Going from state to state to meet them and take pictures of their homes and them to add to my family records.

Then I got hooked on Find A Grave and added all my pictures of stones I took threw the years. I am still looking and adding information I can to help out many other familys.

RE: Phillip Luff descendants
Thanks for your efforts to get more info on Phillip. I suspect his descendants have scattered, but will continue to try. Again, thank you, Kathryn

Phillip Luff descendants
Since you have been so active in the New Richland area genealogies, I am wondering if you might have any information on the descendants of Phillip Luff. I am not related to him, but when I was a child he lived and rented a room with my family. I am now 75 years old and am trying to distribute other family records and objects to the proper families. I have an antique piece of furniture that he left with my family and would like to return this to his family. He left it with us, saying he would return and retrieve it, which didn't happen. It was given to me at the deaths of my parents, Ervin and Buena Engel, as he was my buddy when I was 6 years old. Let me know if you have run across any of his family members, please. Thank you, Kathryn Sherry Engel

Heer photos
Hello there, I am sorry that I uploaded photos that were upside down to some of your pages awhile back. Apparently, when a photo is taken on an iPad/iPhone, it saved the orientation of the device as the. "True" orientation of that photo and this encoded info doesn't always transfer over to websites, etc.. Anyways, the photo(s) always looked right side up to me, since I was viewing them on an apple product. I finally figured how to fix this and have now uploaded it in the correct orientation.
Thanks for your patience!

RE: John Johnson
Please tell me if you can, what is the origin of the information on the memorial for John E. Johnson? Specifically, the part that says his father was Thomas and his mother was Maria?

A Minnesota Death Record indicates that the father of John E. Johnson who died in Waseca County, MN on April 2, 1924, was named Elling Johnson. Thomas and Maria Johnson were no longer living in Wisconsin when John E. Johnson was born there. They did have a son named John Johnson who was also born in 1859, but he was born in Waseca County, Minnesota.

All Census records indicate that the John E. Johnson who married Anna P. Nelson and lived in Blooming Grove Township of Waseca County, MN until his death in 1924 was born in Wisconsin.

I have found census documents that confirm that there was indeed a John Johnson born to Elling and Dortha Johnson at Dane County, Wisconsin in 1859. While this is not conclusive proof, it is worth considering that the John E. Johnson for whom this memorial was created may not be the son of Thomas and Maria Johnson.

Furthermore, unless there is solid evidence to demonstrate that this man was the son of Thomas and Maria Johnson, it should be assumed that he is the son of Elling Johnson of Dane County Wisconsin, as the records seem to indicate.

RE: John Johnson
Although John Johnson is not a direct ancestor of mine, I would be honored to manage his memorial. It is unclear to me whether he is the son of Thomas and Maria as his memorial states. I would be interested to learn whether he is their son, because I am certainly their 3x Great-grandson. I know that Thomas and Maria moved to Waseca County, MN in 1855, and that John was born in Wisconsin in 1859. John's death certificate says that his father was named Ellis Johnson, which may or may not be correct information. Further research is needed to determine these facts, which I hope to do.
