I have added a photo. This is my Great Grandmother, are we related?

Ok, I added the pic to her page. The gravestone was in an older part of the cemetery, where you couldn't read half of the stones. This one must have been replaced at one time and maybe the names on the old stone couldn't be read very well. Just my thought.

You're very welcome Teresa. I did one other request for you also. A Ole Hovda. On His stone is Marit Hovda. But findagrave only has a Marich Hovda with the same birth and death date. Do you know if they are the same person?

Thanks Teresa! I have a sister "Theresa". My email is the same as my Findagrave contact, email@example.com
I have a Clay County, Kansas page that contains photos and obits for the Margaret Ashlock Downs family. You can visit it here: http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~ksclay/index.html
Anyway, I was so tickled to see a picture of William. In my gg-grandmother's obit, it said that her sister and brother from Missouri arrived in Kansas too late to attend her funeral.

Thank you for adding the photo of William Ashlock and his family to his memorial. He is my gg-granduncle, brother of my gg-grandmother Margaret Emeline Ashlock Downs--perhaps William's daughter was her namesake?

Thank you for the info on this family. One of my Rogers lines shares common ancestors with this Rogers family some generations back. DNA testing has proven a connection but finding the common ancestors has proven to be a real challenge. Several of us are working together to try and sort it all out. The DNA matches continue to grow for this group so I am hoping one day it will all come together. I did not show Nancy E. as a Cheatam because I have not been able to find anything to confirm that information. I have heard that somewhere their was a journal or Bible record that had that info recorded by someone. Do you have anything to confirm the Cheatham last name for Nancy. Nancy's direct female to female line is represented in the Family Tree DNA mtDNA project. The person that submitted DNA for that test has also done the Family Finder test that matches you up to cousins/aunts/uncles from both sides of your family. This person now has 11 pages of matches. I am still trying to sort out how these matches are related to the DNA contributor.
