RE: Gene B. Byer, Elk Co. KS
Hello Jennifer,

I'm a french "aviation fanatic" (50 years old now) and since several years i'm trying to find and identify WWII vets (to put a name on a face, find a place and of course to offer, as it possible, unseen or untold informations to their family)

here a link (you will understand who i am) :

for information, this year, in july, i had the pleasure to welcome a B-17 gunner's family in my village (strong "souvenir" and a lot of emotions)

I found your dad's pic on fold3 website

i can suggest to take a look at 92nd BG'facebook page :

you will find a lot of informations and pics

have a nice day,

Daniel BON

RE: Begemann family in Warren Co., MO
I am sorry I do not have any information on your family.

If you look @ the newspaper site for The Marthasville Record you will find good info on your family.

Have a Great Week!

RE: Gilead Cemetery
Afraid those names are not familiar to me, but I think I have copies of at least some of the Bs from the Carroll County Deaths & Burials. I'll see if I can find those names and let you know if I learn anything.

RE: Charles Dohn, Gilead Cemetery
I'm not sure if I ever answered your message. I'm afraid I know nothing of the Dohns. Because I have several ancestors buried in Gilead, I visited there and photographs most of the stones, then posted memorials of those that weren't already posted. Check with the library in Carrollton. They have a great genealogical library section there and are very helpful. They have a book on the burials and deaths of Carroll County and I posted many memorials from that book as well.

RE: Bierbaum graves
I was out taking pictures of headstones today for requests from other people and ran across some Bierbaum's. They have now been entered in Lexington, MO Machpelah cemetery. Not sure if they are related but thought you might want to take a look.

Best Regards

Hi OHenry,

If you know the photo's you have were from the Gilead Cemetery, Carroll County, MO. you should list them in that cemetery on Find-A-Grave, also the photo's.

Hi OHenry,

I looked in the Find-A-Grave Gilead Cemetery records and did not find either your great-grandfather or his wife listed among the records.
Carrollton has a good library and you could check with them. If there is a cemetery book that lists Gilead you could look in it. They usually have a date when it was made and sometimes there are updates. That should tell you if he was ever listed as being buried in Gilead Cemetery. Usually the cemeteries are walked and written as the tombstones read. Also the plots are usually listed.
The Library could also have old obituaries, if someone has donated them.
Some times burials are listed at the Courthouse. But mostly the town cemeteries are the only ones at the Courthouse. It is possible gravestones could be washed away by floods. If you could find out what funeral home handled his funeral, they also have records.
Sorry I can't give you a pat answer.
