RE: Verneita Halstead Poling
Hi Diane,
It's such a shame to hear about the loss of your family photos. I consider that such a tragedy. I myself have rescued many old family photos and documents. I've been fortunate also that my family has passed down a lot of photos to me because they know I'll take care of them. My grandmother Florence spoke of going to one Poling family reunion up in Michigan prior to 1955 when she was married. She said it was the only time she had ever left the state of Ohio before her honeymoon. The spelling of Ida Hasting's last name has always been a mystery to me. My grandmother wasn't even sure of the spelling when she began the family tree for me as a young girl. I've seen it spelled multiple ways including Heisting. Her father Henry's death certificate is spelled "Hastings", so I'm sticking with that for now. If I could find an image of his gravestone, that would probably give us the most accurate spelling. I sent you an invite to my ancestry tree. I currently can't view any other trees without an invite because I couldn't afford to renew my membership. I look forward to swapping as much family info as possible! Feel free to email me too if you'd like. I only wish my grandma Florence were still alive because she had a lot of information on the Polings. Once again, it's so nice to meet you!

RE: Verneita Halstead Poling
Hi Diane! I am absolutely thrilled to meet a cousin! Verneita's husband Ward was the brother of my great-grandpa Ernest. His daughter Florence was my paternal grandmother. Thank you so much for the photo of Verneita's gravestone and for notifying me of the omission in her obituary. Let me know if you would like to swap family information! I'd be happy to also invite you to my Poling family tree on ancestry. Thank you again and it's so great to meet you!

Thank you
Belated thanks for supplying the pictures of the gravestones for Silas and Adelia Palmer. I have been kept busy with work, but I am finally free to say how much I appreciate your contribution of effort.

RE: Halstead Farm Cemetery
Have you come across any other Halsted/Perkins combinations? One of Jane Perkins Halstead's brothers had Halstead as his middle name, so wondering if there is a connection some way. I am stuck on the Perkins line.

RE: Halstead Farm Cemetery
I did not visit the cemetery. The list came from the Lenawee Co Library in Adrian. On the bottom it said that it was formerly the Reynolds Farm. If you are in Adrian there was a person who is up on genealogy (that was 4 years ago). Sorry I do not know any more. My relative was Jane Perkins Halstead.

Thank you so much for the wonderful photo! Do you happen to remember if there was a Dorsen Badgley buried nearby?
