I enjoy researching the family tree and learning more about my "roots." What triggered it was listening to my grandparents tell how they settled and traveled the country in covered wagons. Among my other interests are needlework, stamping, sewing, some gardening, and square dancing. | |

 | Israel Johnson Found you on Bing. My name is Michael Hollis Johnson. We are having our Johnson family reunion tomorrow on Fox Hollow Road in Batchlerville, NY. Sorry for such short notice. Please contact me as I have family history to share with you. | | | Debbi Johnson
 | RE: family ties I tried to email you at that address, but it came back to me. I tried twice. My personal email is Lynneye77@aol.com maybe you can send me an email? This is what I wrote in the email.
This is my personal email account, I know it is a weird name. It is my nickname and favorite number. I am a teacher and needed something that the students couldn't figure out. I teach at the local university.
How did you get interested in doing your family tree? My dad started me. He was working on it, and I started typing for him, as he is a horrible typist! Then I started to get more interested in it, when we got to more than just our immediate family that I know, personally. Now I am obsessed and some days, don't want to go to work, so I can figure out that last piece of whatever part of the puzzle I am working on. I did put your info in and we are fifth cousins. I live in Connecticut. Have been here for about 15 years. Before I lived in upstate NY. Have been to the area where our grandfather Isreal lived. Recently, I went to Colchester CT. and took my own pictures of Isreal's great grandfather's tomb stones. John Johnson Sr. (at least that is how I have his name). I also have pictures of Anstress Newton's stone which is in really bad condition, as well as many others. I have many from Anstress's family as well. All from Colchester CT. If you want any, just let me know, I will happily send them. I did take some pictures I don't think are relatives, but they are buried near relatives, so took the pictures and figured I could delete the pictures, if I find they are not related. Easier to have the pictures than go back again. Hope to get to upstate NY this summer during my summer break, but since I teach summer school, there isn't a lot of time. I only have two weeks off in August and one week, next week before summer school starts. So not a lot of time for trips like that. In August, we always go to Cape Cod for at least a week. Would love to hear from you! Keep in touch, Debbi | | | Debbi Johnson
 | RE: Israel Johnson Israel Johnson is also my fourth great grandfather. My father is John Johnson grandfatherJoseph Johnson; great grandfather george Johnson, 2nd great grandfather is Lewis Johnson 3rd grandfather is Israel Johnson Jr.
I have only recently begun to work on my family tree. I am fascinated! I recently went to Colchester Conn. and took my own pictures of some family gravestones. My father and I are both working on it. We heard we are related to Sir Isaac Johnson and are trying to get the connection. My dad thinks he found it this past week. There is a book, On Clear Pond written by Roger Mitchell. It is his story of finding out about Israel Johnson and just being curious and researching.
I would love to share the info you have with what I have. I am using the Family Tree Maker 2011 and just figured out we are 5th cousins! Keep in touch Debbi | | | Vaughan Mavir

I'm happy to transfer her memorial over to you. Next time I go to Mountain View I will look at her card and see if there is any more useful information and send it along to you.

 | RE: Lewis Derr dates We all need to work together...sometimes when I'm typing my fingers don't always hit the right key. Or, it's because I'm tired when I'm entering the info. Keep up the great work!!!! | | | Mike
 | RE: herman daily and spouse I went ahead and set up a memorial for Herman's wife Vergie and posted the photo. If you want the memorial I'd be happy to transfer it to you, otherwise I will keep it for the time being.

 | Ida Mae Rhodes Kline Dear Joyce, Thank you for posting photos. Would it be possible to change your note on Ida Mae and to add her maiden name?
She was the first wife of George Bernard Kline, not his daughter. They were married 19 January 1909 at Harvard, NE. Thank you, Catherine Renschler | | | | [View all messages...] |
