Hello Ms Kaiser, Your mailing finally made its way to me. It must have had an interesting journey. I was very tickled at its contents. The family photo is great! I was able to glean some info from the other items you enclosed, so thank you very much. I did not find your permission for me to use the image if I publish and if you are agreeable a simple email to that effect will be just fine. Thank you very much - Dean Knudsen, 7th Iowa Cavalry researcher

Good morning. I would appreciate anything you are willing to share regarding Frank Thornton. The photo would be fantastic, and all else would be a bonus. I don't have much else to offer in return as all I have on Frank is the usual date of enlistment and date of discharge stuff. He did belong to Company F, 7th Iowa Cavalry, which had a nasty fight with Indians at Julesburg, CO in early January of 1865 - however from the records I cannot say if he was a participant or not. While I am interested in their military service, I am most curious in how their experience in the West may have influenced the later lives of these 7 Iowa Cav veterans. Thank you so much for your interest and willingness to share. Sincerely, Dean Knudsen

Hello. Just getting the photo credit and family background is a big plus. Am I right in assuming that the image you posted is actually cropped down? Would it be a hardship to ask to see the whole image? I am just curious to see what of Francis might have been trimmed out. If there comes a time for publication it may be necessary to get a scan that has a higher resolution in order to get a decent reproduction. Also, do you know what Francis did for a living, or know of any stories the family may have passed down about his service during the Civil War? Thanks so much for your time and interest - Dean Knudsen, 7th Iowa Cavalry researcher

|Annette Kaiser Larsen Smith||kaiser & Kustanborter geneology|
Hi Aunt Kathy,
It has been a long time since I've seen you.
How are you?
I spoke to Grandma Kaiser the other day and she told me that you had been doing geneology. What a qauincidence, that I came across your name while browsing this website.(I had just googled the Allen cemetary and found it while looking at Ernest Kaiser's page).
I'm working on geneology for the Kaiser & Kustanborter family.
I thought I would contact you to let you Know that I just registered with this site.
I am wondering if you have any info. about Jennie Dixon Kaiser's baby that died at birth (the same day Jennie died also).Such as the name, gender,place of death and burial? All I know is that the baby's father is John Casey ( Jennie Dixon's second husband) & the baby's date of birth and death, which is the same.
It would be great if you could contact me with any info. that you might have.
Annette Smith ( Netty )
