 | James and Alice Vining, Dawnville Cemetary
Hi. My husband and I searched the entire cemetary for James and Alice Vining. We did not find them. But we did find a family group for 5 other Vinings. Felix J Vining 1857-1933 (father), Sarah E Vining 1860-1923 (mother), John C. Vining 1882-1930 (brother), Demmie Vining 1892-1986 (mother), and Chas F. Vining 1897-1937 (husband). We didn't look to see if those already have memorials on Find A Grave yet. But can add pictures if those are some you may be looking for also.

I posted all the names I cold find today with the name Andrews. Can you give me some names that may have married into those Andrews. I talked with the pastor today and they have made a thorough survey on every visible grave they can find and he has a copy in his office. Now that tells us who is in the cemetery, but we stil have to make the photos. if you will look at Sunpoint on Find A Grave, you will notice that there are quite a few memorials that do not have photos. That is my goal - to make pictures and put them on Find A Grave so people can see them. Then they can handle with whoever is managing those memorials. I am from this area. How did you happen to be related to this family of Andrews. By the way, the graves that I look at are in good condition.
The SC Law now prohibits anyone doing anything to a grave without permission from a family member. Do you know who in your family could give them that permission. If you do, either e-mail me or I will get hise-mail and you can mail him direct.
For instance, some soil may have washed over some markers that are close to the ground, but we are not supposed to clean them up without permission. The State s clammping down on cemetery vandalism. I can make photos or put a flower on the grave, but I cannot do anything that will disburb it, not even move a field rock.
The pastor's name is Samuel Kioko. He was born in Africa. This was an all white church in the Southern Baptist Convention, but it dwindled out and it has an internation congregation now and is no long white. But this pastor is really on the ball. Also, they have to keep the cemetery cleaned up and that costs. They have to pay somebody $175.00 each time the grass is mowed and the edging is done.
The reason I am telling you this is because you have relatives there. I have relatives there. It is an old church with a lot of history of families who originally moved into this area.
If you and your family would like to contribute to the cemetery fund, let me know and I will send you an address for sending the contribution. Everybody can't give a lot, but a dollar here and a dollar there adds up.
Right now, the pastor does not accept a salary. It is whatever they people give him thru love offerings. He is a very unusual man and I believe we can count on him to see that our loved ones who are buried there will be taken care of.
Keep in touch about the photos so I can go back if you think there are others.
I just had a thought. If the pastor with allow me, I could email you a copy of their cemetery survey and you could go thru the names. Would that help.

Cathy: I will try to get this photo for you. I have relatives and friends in that cemetery and it is not very far from me. Make a note in your records that it has been changed to Sonpoint Baptist Fellowship Church Cemetery. It is already on Find A Grave but if you are doing research make sure you note it in your notes for future.
There are other Andrews Families buried there. Do you want those also.
