Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hi, My name is Judy (Cressler)Brown and I live in Manhattan, Riley County, KS. I am originally from Hoxie, Sheridan County, KS. My love of family and tracing their 'roots' came from many long, wonderful hours spent with my grandparents when I was a child. My grandmother Cressler had many boxes of old family pictures. She would get them down off the shelf in the spare bedroom closet and we would go through them one by one, while she told me stories about their lives. We did this so often that I came to know the family members as if they were alive but just away for awhile. My grandparent were pioneers themselves, and both remembered coming from Maryland and Illinois to Sheridan County KS when they were children. They both came in covered wagons and they lived in dugouts and soddies. They both had tragedies in their lives. The stories live on in my memories and they could not have given me a better gift. I have many of the old photos now and have been matching them to stories and records about days long ago. Grandma & Grandad left a lot of written notes and so did my dad, Howard Cressler.
Some of the family surnames I am researching are: CRESSLER, RUSSELL, LINTHICUM, MARSHALL, LOVE, BELL, HAYNES, SMALL, BROWN, MILLER, KEITH, HAINES AND McKIM. These peope came from: Vermont, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Indiana, Missouri, Ireland, Germany, Scotland, and France.

I do not claim or copyright any of the photos I take to fufill requests by family members, loved ones, or friends of the deceased. The photos may be posted and/or copied at the user's discretion.

RE: Bell memorials
Transfers complete. The transcript I was working from when I created the memorials only goes up to 1953 so if Golde died after that time, she may be at Fairmount. I suggest you either contact the cemetery to check on her or you could request photos of the known family members. Most photo volunteers will take all family members in a nearby area so that may also confirm Golde for you.

RE: Marshall #76652852
Hmmm, there's nothing at all for "Marshall" in the transcription from the 80s. I'll see if I can contact the sexton and see what he has.

RE: Henry Marshall
The coal mining accident information was from the cemetery records. I also found futher info and included it on his memorial. I believe reading it will help you determine whether he is any relation. He is memorial 25351171.

Thanks Judy for spotting that typo. It has been corrected. I will keep my eyes open for Leander.

Keith headstone photo
Please remove the grave stone photo from memorial #12795549 James A. Keith (1880-1953) because the marker in the photo is for his grandparents, James Keith (1807-1889) #15909420 and Jennette Beggs (1816-1901) #15909429. So many James Keiths all buried in the same cemetery are confusing!!!

RE: Cressler Headstone

The next time I can get up that way I'll get what additional information I can for you. It was difficult to see on a sunny day so perhaps a photo when it's overcast will be better.

RE: photo requests for Glenn stones
Thank you! I think I did it. :) I put Elizabeth Glenn and Malachia J. Glenn numbers in and requested the photo's like you suggested. Perhaps that will work.
God bless and Happy Thanksgiving to you & yours!
