Yes I am James and Jean (Dekat) Lauer's daughter from Flush.
Maria Elizabeth Fiegener-Budenbender was my great great grandmother. Her daughter Kate Budenbender-Lauer was my great grandmother, whom was my grandpa's Andrew Lauer's mother.

Evelyn and Don were both wonderful people.
She played the organ at St. Bernard's church here at Wamego where I live, and Don use to sing.

RE: Mt. Zion cemetery, Macon, MO
Thanks. I'm in Georgia - I'd like to get up there to MO to look around someday, too. Haven't had any luck finding info online.

Mt. Zion cemetery, Macon, MO
I have conflicting information for burial of an ancestor. Based on Mears Obituaries, Vol. 2, I had Nettie Basim buried at Mt. Tabor. But I just found an obituary (actual document, not someone's recording of it) that says she was a member of the M.E. church, and was buried at Mt. Zion. Another news item a few months later reports her father was "tending graves at Mt. Zion." The photo you took of the gate seems to imply that the cemetery was founded in 1909. I wonder if you live locally, and might know if there is an "old" Mt. Zion, or if the date refers to something else? There seem to be plenty of memorials for people buried there who died before 1909. Anything you can do to shed light on this for me would be greatly appreciated!

I thought she would be hard to find since there were no rows or number of graves to her location, because our books only went to 2002. I actually happen to park my car right next to her grave. I looked down and there she was! Glad I could do it.
