I have been collecting old family photos and stories since 1954. I am now 82 and concerned about what will happen to memorials I now manage after I am gone. Families that I research are: JONES, HUCKABEE, MIEARS, POWELL, GREENWOOD, STRANGE. I am interested in the following cemeteries in southwest Arkansas: Mt. Nebo, Old Sardis-Hatch, Huckabee, Powell, Providence, Patmos, and New Hope cemeteries in Hempstead County; Knighton Chapel, Wilson, and Sewell cemeteries in Lafayette County; Jones-Powell, Beech Creek, and Green cemeteries in Columbia County, Arkansas.
Walter C. Abbott He was born in 1904 and the son of John P. Abbott otherwise noted as J.P. Abbott and Sarah Virginia Ellis Abbott. His father was born in Georgia originally. His mother was born in Mississippi and they had him in Arkansas. Walter was my (great great uncle) Will you please transfer this account to me
RE: Photo for Gladys Mae Miears Whitten CORRECTION, i just noticed that Gladys already has a memorial setup in Denton under the Roselawn cemetery there. you could request a photo from that area, using that proper Gladys Whitten memorial. in the meantime, i'll request the duplicate memorial of Glayds (name is spelled wrong) in Seagoville, TX be removed. snipps
RE: Photo for Gladys Mae Miears Whitten WOW! Gladys' memorial needs to be corrected if she is buried in Roselawn DENTON. Denton is over an hours drive from my house. I will get in contact with the creator of her memorial account and see if he can have it corrected to Denton. Once that is done, you could request, once again, a photo for her and hopefully someone from that area will be able to fulfill it for you. Thanks for letting me know. have a great weekend. snipps
RE: Photo for Daphne Sunshine Greene Miears Thanks for the kind words, make it worth while when the photos are useful to others. By the time we got thru with the cemetery we were dragging (had done a few rows some time ago). There were a couple turned over in the ground and a couple broken up ones that we could not get :-( Wish I knew who they were. Also several large rocks marking the graves ?? The old church has been torn down & the cemetery was in good shape. Thanks again for being so kind. Mary
