Hi, I'm Haley Amber. I was born in Portland, ME, January 3, 1995. I was introduced to history and genealogy at a young age by my father, who is very dear to me and is always my traveling buddy on our cemetery searches across Maine. Marble stones can be interesting, but we both prefer the slate stones. |
Your tombstone stands among the rest, Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out...On old gray granite stone.
It reaches out to all who care...It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist...You died...and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you...In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse...Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled...One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left...Who would have loved you so.
I wonder when you lived and loved; I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot...And come and visit you."

Hello Haley: I have a problem for you that is happening all over the place on findagrave website. Your picture that you placed Saturday has appeared on a memorial page for this person: William Brockmire 1875-1956 memorial #7407916 at New Lorimier Cemetery, Cape Girardeau, Mo. Can you believe that a picture from Maine would get put on a page here in Missouri? It was happening Saturday and is driving me nuts. I had just taken 115 pictures on Friday and was trying to download them to the cemetery here and began to see different pictures. Then people were sending me messages that my pictures appeared on their pages. Could you delete your picture on his page? But I will warn you someone told me when you do that, your picture will disappear on the correct memorial page so hopefully you have the picture still in your computer. Thanks for your help in solving this problem. Ruth

Love the "Journey". Love that group!
I am hoping that you might be willing to transfer 3 Trefethen memorials to me. I have been searching for my Great Gandaunt Laura (McGrath)Trefethen for at least 20 years! Finally, I found her...bless you! AND along with her 2 husbands!
These are the memorial numbers;
Laura Trefethen: 81152808
Fred Trefethen: 81152808 (husband 2)
Charles Trefethen: 81151113 (husband 1)
Laura was a very sick girl & Lady, lots of pain!
Thank You Very Much,
