|I started my ancestry over 20 yrs. ago, and might add It has become an obsession with me, I am like a mad dog hunting for the bones of my ancestors.|
I started with very little on some surnames, and now have much more, and any little thing I get, is like giving candy to a kid.
I salute all those on findagrave who have helped me, and thousands of others. These people are nonstop, and deserve a monument to them alone.
My surnames, are Chance, San Pierre/Sampier, Norman, Harrison in TX. Other areas Sanders, Stevenson, Plumlee/Plumley, Shockley, Ogle, Brownfield, Stewart, Kidwell, Tibbets, Boone, Warren, and many others.

I will give you some of what I have about the Tulare County CHANCEs.
My great uncle Bruce died in Fresno after being taken to a hospital there from Dinuba. There is no Death Certificate in Tulare County but his Probate is found in the Court House. After finding that, I was able to piece together some of his life.
This is what I think happened. He came back to his childhood home and settled in Dinuba. He married Edith Nettie LEONARD. LEONARD was her maiden name. Anyway, she and Bruce married when he was 81 and she was 78.
I discovered that Bruce had been in WWI and got lucky and was able to get the VA Marker that you find at the Smith Mountain Cemetery.
Much more can be found on my web site but this is a shortcut .
Good to hear from you and thank you.
