Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born and raised in Dallas, TX. However, my roots are in Gulfport, Mississippi area (The Smith, Johnson, Kendall, Mayberry clans) and Mobile, Alabama area (The Murphy, Maherg, Blankenship clans). I would like to link our families through so the future generations can easily track their heritage. I love history and the stories of my family. They have made me who I am today and I am proud of my heritage.

I live in Northern Alabama and if you have any photo requests in TN/AL area, let me know!

I filled Bessie and am going to add husband William and daughter Arlene Joyce. Maybe you can get the memorial guy to link them or transfer to you if you are related, so you can do it. I haven't had much luck with him.

hope you are doing well
I have been trying and trying to email you even with your new email address. I hope you are doing ok. I lost my mother Aug 7th and they buried her in Aug. 9th. her birthday was Aug 9th same as Rhondas. I really don't know how you dealt with what you have been thru but I am having a very hard time with this. mom had her first stroke 3 years agao and then had 3 more before she passed aways. Losing the people that mean so much to you is so hard. I felt I l lost my family when yours passed I loved them so much but my depression would not let me help in any way. I feel so quilty I did not do more for Bill and Nell it is unreal. U know I cannot delete her number from my is still there and will probably stay there. I do hope you and Debra a doing ok Much love to you Kathy....Lisa May

Old Elyton Cemetary-- Judge Joab Bagley

I saw your profile. You stated you would be open to taking grave photos in Northern Alabama.

My name is Joe Bagley. I found you thru Julie Oliver's (#46997923) message board.

I currently live in NE Ohio but also grew up in Texas. I recently started looking into my roots after discovering FindaGrave.

Through Findagrave I located my GG Grand Father. His name is Judge Joab Bagley. I have been researching him through online sources.

Unfortunatly no one is responding to my photo request. He was one of the early settlers in Birmingham (before 1872 it was Elyton). He is buried in the "Old" Elyton Cemetary. I found a survey online that listed him (taken in 1998). I understand the area is not a good area today but if you and some brave friends could manage it I would apreciate a photo be posted on his memorial(Find A Grave Memorial# 40998379).

I understand if you don't feel confortable with this request but I thought I'd ask.

Thanks for considering it.

Best Wishes,
Joe Bagley

RE: Bill Smith-Mt. Olive
By the way Kathy- I noticed you have lost both of your parents recently. My heart goes out to you. I lost my Dad last year and my heart is still breaking over it. So sorry for your loss.

RE: Bill Smith-Mt. Olive
Hi, sorry to bother you. I am not just searching for just your Dads but for many listed on findagrave- I have been photographing the headstones and listing the people names and dates at Mount Olive (volunteer work). One of the ladies on Mount Olive Cemetery Committee (Roby Johnson) was proofing the listings to agains the cemetery books to make sure I have names and dates correct and she noticed your Dad was listed in the Mount Olive enumeration. She said as far as she knew he wasn't buried there. I told her I didn't know anything about it- someone else had listed him online. She is new to using the internet and asked if I could find out if there's a stone for him. I know some people put their family members ashes out there, I just found one of those a few days ago. I just want to make sure I don't miss any headstones. I have missed some when I have walked through before and am trying to go back and photgraph them. I am contacted all the time by relatives trying to locate their ancestors graves (mainly old graves). Thanks so much for your time.
