RE: Caroline E. Kay Mattison

Elizabeth Caroline Kay Mattison lived a long life and was buried at the country church between Townville and Westminster, SC. Her husband, Lt. James F. Mattison, has a substantial tombstone at Shady Grove Baptist near Belton, having died in the Civil War. But whether he is actually buried there, or a memorial stone, is still a question.

Email me. I want you to get more information from Dr. William Donald Kay, Editor of the Kay Family Quarterly.

RE: Caroline E. Kay Mattison
Could your Caroline E. Kay Mattison be Elizabeth Caroline Kay Mattison (b. 1824), daughter of Robert Henson Kay and Isabella Brownlee Kay. She was born probably near Broadmouth Creek in Pendleton District which later became Anderson County, SC. In 1825 her parents moved to near Honea Path, SC. She married James Frank Mattison. It is possible but not confirmed that Elizabeth Caroline Kay Mattison is buried in the Robert Henson Kay Private Cemetery in Abbeville County, SC. Source, Item 155, Descendents of Robert Kay published by the Kay Family Association, Mt. Pleasant, SC. EMAIL ME, please.

Please me an email directly so that I copy and paste the information I have that you are seeking about Caroline E. Kay.

I can't paste my inform onto the form I am now typing on for Find-A-Grave. Very annoying!

Caroline E. Kay was not married to the person you mention. She was married to John Moorehead and they had two children.

I'm sorry I cannot help any more. Since Kathy entered the memorials and I only entered a picture I don't know anything about them.

I blew up the copy that i had and so put the inscription on the memorial but it looks to me like it says son of J M Foskey and age 18. I went back to my notes i took when doing this cemetery and i had wrote his age down.

Now that you mention the singing..her and mom would sing together. Sometimes I'd go by and Ms. Elise would be singing up a storm.

I wanted to let you know that I transferred Miss. Elise to you. She and my mother Hope were roommates at the Bethany Home. She was so precious.
