RE: Irene Cook Stansbury
Thanks so much for catching that. I try to check for duplicates, but I guess the Eliza as first name threw me off.

I've deleted the memorial I created.

Thanks for pointing this error out to me. Hopefully I have it straight now. Do you know, was her nickname Julia? I put it as that, but if it isn't correct, let me know!! Thanks again!!

RE: Peter Lantz
Hello Bob!

I requested a copy of Baltzer Lantz's will from the Lancaster County Archives. Here's the relevant part - "I do give and bequeath unto my grandsons John Lantz and Peter Lantz (sons of my son Peter deceased)..." My first thought was that Baltzer could very well be the grandfather of our 3rd great-grandfather John.

Unfortunately, the dates just don't work. Baltzer Lantz's dates are 1743-1812. The dates of the Peter Lantz buried at Kriders Lutheran Cemetery in Carroll County are 1770-1840, i.e. this Peter Lantz did not predecease the Baltzer Lantz in Lancaster. Their years of birth are too close together to think that this Peter would be Baltzer's grandson either.

I don't have any primary source to show that John Lantz (1798-1851) is the son of Peter Lantz (1770-1840), but that seems like a fairly safe assumption. I'm going to add that relationship on Findagrave.

Please let me know if you learn anything new about this family.

Thanks!
Wanda

RE: Peter Lantz
Peter is my 4th great-grandfather. If he's yours too, that would make us 5th cousins. I used to think that was ridiculously distant until I watched the PBS special on the Roosevelts. I knew that Theodore and Franklin were cousins, and it seems that they're 5th cousins.

Here's another coincidence. I grew up in Baltimore and now live in Ohio too! We lived in the city until I was 15 so I went to Edmondson High School for one year. After that we moved to Catonsville. Now I live in Athens Ohio.

RE: John Lantz
Are you (or possibly another relative) related to John Lantz? I'm intrigued by the fact that you have very few memorials and only two in Carroll County, and you've added photos to those two memorials.

Stansbury Fairmount Cemetery, Newark
Hi Bob,
Am still wondering if John Nicholas Stansbury who was born Jan, 1833 and died May 1892, who is buried with an Emma, is the Stansbury you would like a photo of? Your request is for Dean and there are no Dean Stansburys here. Please let me know, Thanks,
BonnieB.
