Photo of Laura Mae Risley (1910) on ebay right now
Hi Catleigh,

There is a photo of your grandmother at the age of 11 on ebay right now. I have copied the link so that you can take a look. I'm not related, I just happen to see it and wanted to try and let a family member know about it.

RE: Lucinda Jane Meadows Lucas
Hello,
The burial info was on her death cert. I do not live in that state, so I have never looked for the gravestone.

Mahlon and Margaretta Adams
Cathy,

Hello. I have been researching my family tree for just about 30 some years. My ggg-grandfather is Mahlon Adams and it seems he just vanished!

My cousin contacted me today after discovering your family tree - we are both excited because we could never find info on Mahlon and Margaretta, we only had their marriage date.

Our ggg-grandfather, Mahlon lived in Trenton, NJ with his "possible" 2nd wife Elizabeth McClary. Do you have info on your Mahlon, is possible that Margaretta was our Mahlon's first wife?

I am looking forward to hearing from you and would like to share info.

Best regards,

Judie

RE: John Paine
Hi Catleigh,
Never a problem to transfer, I enjoy when people find what they're looking for and if I can assist, I'm glad to. I've transferred him to you, good luck with your ancestry.

Virginia M. Risley
Dear Catleigh, Yes, I would be very happy to learn more about my ancestor's family. It seems that Virginia (your grand aunt) and I are both great grandchildren of John Henry Paine and Adaline Adams. No, I'm not 100 years old, but this can be explained by saying that Laura Virginia's little brother William George Augustus was well in his 40's when he had my father, Willard Harland Paine and he in turn was 38 when I was born. so two generations were skipped over there. William George was raised in Menard County IL by Mariah and John Henry Paine. (his grandparents) I guess when John Henry, Jr. died - Adaline couldn't raise all the children . My sister and I started looking into the family history about 15 years ago with absolutely no knowledge of the Paine family at all. we have learned a bit over the years. The most puzzling thing to get over in the beginning was the fact that there were three John Henry Paines. but we sorted them out eventually. I too would be glad to share anything we have learned with you. My email address is bemarbelous@yahoo.com if you would like to contact me there.

RE: Oddfellows Cemetery
Haven't come across any Lucas' yet. I did check the state archives & they show John Lucas was buried in Oak Hill on May 20, 1920. So you may be right about the Oddfellows Cemetery. Or could be Highlawn Memorial Park, that's another big one.
