|DasPrussian||RE: Webster Stanley|
Hi there - I already emailed that particular Oshkosh museum and asked if they had any more info on Webster...she said that she thinks that the body was never moved back to Wisconsin - I even attached that newspaper clipping. But she did say that I should contact somebody in the Library itself and that had more info on Webster than she did - so you might want to try that

|Khoward||RE: Webster Stanley burial|
Don't give up hope for Mr. Stanley yet. There may never have been a stone since he was buried so far from home, or it may have been a temporary type marker that is gone now. I happen to have found out (after I was at Columbia Catholic) that Brown County has an index of burials for a lot of the county cemeteries. I don't know if that cemetery is one of them and I don't know if they are very complete but I will try to confirm that he was buried there the next time I'm in Brown county on a day that the Courthouse is open. Unfortunately, I do not live there but I visit my sister there a couple of time per year. I would ask her to take a look for me but a law they enacted a few years ago restricts access to vital records unless you register with the SD Genealogical Society. I won't forget but it may be a while until you hear from me again. His name did not appear on the South Dakota Cemetery listings but I think those were based on WPA lists and I have found they aren't very complete either. Only three names were listed for Columbia Catholic. Katherine

These are actually my relatives. My mother's maiden name is Hollenbeck and the Father of John is the brother my mother's father so I really do appreciate the gravestone pictures you took for John and Elsie.
