Genealogy has become one of my favorite obsessions. I've found it sometimes frustrating but mostly rewarding. It's been especially rewarding to meet other people with similar motivation. Thanks to one and all! You more experienced folk have been gracious and have helped me continue. When I make mistakes, please don't be afraid to tell me. If you have a family member you're looking for in the Nashville area, please let me know!|

|Divdar||J. David McFarland|
Also, on my last trip to Nevada, I found an article from the Nevada Daily Mail death files: 'A man named McFarland whose home is in the vicinity of Walker, died at the home of Mr. Denton, in the north part of this city, Thursday evening, Nov 9, 1887, of heart disease. The deceased had been to Arkansas on a hunting expedition and was enroute home." Any thoughts on this being J. David McFarland?

Thanks for posting the picture of David and Phoebe McFarland. I was wondering if you might have any other McFarland photos? Thanks.

|Julia Ojard||You're my cousin, related by Virginia & Betty|
Dan, thanks so much for posting information about my grandmother Caroline Agnes Hughes Hestand and grandfather, Charles Leroy "Chick" Hestand. My mother Virginia just passed on October 29, 2014. I'm struggling to know how to write he obituary. The information you posted is so helpful in my search for answers. I would love to reconnect with you. We spoke briefly on the phone when you still lived in Chicago. Please feel free to contact me via email: firstname.lastname@example.org. I hope to hear from you!
|Judy Jones||RE: McFarland Bible|
I copied all the pages with info on them and sent them to you months ago, before I donated the bible. Maybe you did not see the attachments at that time. I did notice you never mentioned my attachments. I thought you didn't think they were so great. Anyway, sorry you might not of seen them before now. There was wonderful info I thought you would like. Enjoy your searching. Judy Jones

We drove down to Nevada, MO. to donate the McFarland Bible in July 2014. We left it with the lower level Vernon Co. Historical Society and Bushwhacker Historical Museum.
Have a good trip.
Dan, How are you related to the McFarland family? My husband is a Great grandson of James Andrew McFarland who is buried at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in King County Washington.

|junebug||RE: Susan Jane (Usrey) Neeley # 59177132|
Thank you for attaching Susan to her parents and for the kind information also. I was researching another Neeley and came across this line and wanted to link the family together (as much as I could). I'm going to request the owner of Philip's memorial include that he was a minister. The owner of the memorial for his wife, Mary Frances Warren, has her listed as "Mary Frances "Frances" (Warren) Usrey, mother of Juda, Susan Jane,
Phillip Jr., Richard, David, and Joseph Warren Usrey."
My mother's grandfather was also a minister and the founder of a church. It is a blessing to have such a memory/heritage of someone who faithfully loved and served as He (Jesus) also loved us.
I've a couple* of Neeleys that I could transfer to you, if you wish. Although, at this point, I've moved on elsewhere and would have to think a bit before I could tell you if the one is even in your line. The other is the reason I was searching. He is a Ahtna Taltsiine (water) Clan native of Alaska. So I doubt that he is your relative. Of course, he was an active Christian minister to his people and a preacher… so one never knows! Lol.
Again, thanks for the info. Its quite interesting. I do so enjoy genealogy.
BTW, you're a retired musician… what instrument(s)? I'm sure you miss that moment when, all the instruments coming together, make that glorious sound that just utterly surrounds you - unlike anything a radio or concert hall can replicate. Lol. I still my middle-school symphonic band days… and, believe me, THAT was a long time ago.
May the Lord bless and guide you.

|Beverly Cook||Samuel Feldman Memorial|
Dan, did you realize that you have entered a picture of the monument of Sydney Feldman at the Samuel Feldman memorial page in the Temple Cemetery, Nashville, TN?
|Bill and Elaine Schrock||RE: Cemetery Photo|
If you click on the link to the cemetery's website on the Find A Grave cemetery page you will see where it says the office is located in the South Sound Manor facility. If you click on the "Facilities" link on the left side of the page you can see a photo of the building I described. Hopefully I can take a decent photo this weekend to add to the page.
The brick building was gone before I started going out there in 2007 so it was interesting to see what was once there.
