I have no idea how you would have ever found the Prarie Point Cemetary (unless you live way out there), but you uploaded a photo of the grave for my Grandfather, Sidney Miller who passed away in June of 2010. I was so surprised to see it on this website.

Funeral services for Gerald Dean Hooks, 79, of Cushing will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, in the Dickie Allen Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Williams officiating. Burial will be held in the Old Palestine Cemetery in Alto. Mr. Hooks passed away Thursday in Cushing. He was born March 15, 1933, in Nat, Texas to William Murdoch and Lena Pearl Baker Hooks. He graduated from Cushing High School in 1953 and worked for Western Electric, IBEW, Brown and Root (stateside and overseas). Gerald retired from the State of Texas Prison System. God called Gerald into ministry and he preached full time until he semi-retired in 2001. The most memorable ministry trip was to Israel and they showed him the actual steps Jesus walked on. Gerald walked on each step and cried that he was so close to where Jesus had walked. He could not talk about it without crying. His whole life was telling others of Jesus. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 46 years, Evelyn Fenton; brothers, Harold Hooks, William Bryant Hooks, and Van Gordon Hooks; and sister Laverne Hooks. Survivors include his wife of 13 wonderful years, Lyvonne Jackson Hooks of Cushing; sons, Gary and wife Debbie Hooks of Dialville, Gordon and wife Ellen Hooks of Alto, David and wife Sarah Hooks of Cushing, and Corey and wife Sarah Hooks of Ariz.; daughter Debra and husband Don White of Palestine; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; and six step-great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Trey Franke, Tom Crouch, Larry Beaird, Kenneth Raines, Timmy Owen and J.W. Ogorman. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, at the funeral home in Cushing. Special thanks to Home Care Network nurses and nurse Debbie Wiggins for her care and support and Dr. David L. Duke III for his care and friendship. Other members of Emiline's family are buried in the Wichita Falls cemetery with photos of their tombstones.
