RE: Parnell Family Headstones
It was my pleasure. BTW, I have Parnells in my family, too! I don't yet know if these Parnells are connected to me, though.

James A Penn ~ Hollywood Cemetery
Greetings. I claimed your photo request for James A Penn at Hollywood Cemetery. I'm sorry to report, there is no gravestone with his name or anything similar. And this is not unusual, to find nothing, because the gravestones we DO find account for only about 1 out of every 150 burials; There are no original markers here, the original wartime burials were marked hastily by wooden boards that are long gone, and the only markers here today are VA markers placed by descendents at later dates.) In the case of your soldier, no marker has been placed. You can always contact the Hollywood Cemetery office for info on how to have a marker placed. I'll post a photo of the hallowed ground where he's buried, for you to see. Rich.

RE: Alvin Winans Photos
For your informatio, the following persons are buried in Sec E-27 in the following graves
Emma-1, Judge James-2, Caroline-4, James-9,
Mattaus-10, Alvin & Dau-11, Little Pete-14, Willie-15, Amelia Winans Forwerg-16.
Amelia has a maker and Alvin and Mattaus have ones that are barely readable. There is a large white marker that had names, but the only one barely readable is Emma. It is pictured with Alvins stone.
