We all have our reasons for making memorials, mine are to honor my ancestors, family members and close personal friends who have passed. I will not make memorials to people I did not know, so am invested personally in them. While I don't have unlimited time to add to memorials, I do them as I can and it is a work in progress. |
From time to time, enterprising folks have researched and posted personal family information on these pages that is incorrect or just plain the wrong person. My practice is "Trust but Verify" before posting. And I would appreciate if before you post photos or materials to pages I maintain you ask first.
I do enjoy searching for and taking photos of graves when they are requested. If I find a photo you've requested, I will do my best, but if I find a related person nearby, I will happily send them to you so you can have the honor of posting the memorial.

Thank you for ALL your contributions to Findagrave.

Sorry, Kathy, I did not mean to offend you. I took off the photo and the "flower". If I have any memorial that you want, just ask, (nicely), and I will transfer. [I have been known to refuse a transfer when asked rudely] [I have also been known to transfer without request, when I realize that a person is related].
I read your bio. You are working on family. Please read ours. I have done our family, and I am working to preserve records for OTHERS, for genealogy purposes and just so the person is not forgotten. At the time I put them on find a grave I have no way of knowing if someone else is interested in preserving their memory. But I strongly believe the memorial belongs to family or a loved one. Helen

No problem, Kathy :) I believe I need to correct myself. I think I refered to Bertha and brothers as great aunt/uncles when in fact they are great-great. I'm happy to know the memorials are maintained by family :)

Thanks, Kathy, for resolving my what-happened-to-Malvina question. She's my first cousin (4R) and a key link in a line I've been chasing for years. If you're curious about her Sawyer parents, I've written them up fairly extensively here:

No. I'm not a relative. I just made it my community service goal to put all of Cherry Grove Cemetery interments onto findagrave. I have been working on this project for about a year and have only two more blocks to go;) If there is a person who is buried in Cherry Grove but isn't listed on Find A Grave after I get Blocks 25 and 26 finished, the person has no headstone to be photographed. I will then add those people by looking at the cemetery's records. Glad to help in any way I can.

Thanks so much Kathy for Cornie's picture. Would you please add it to his wife Nellie #76820416 also? We really appreciate your time and effort in helping us fill out our family tree :)

I hope you don't mind my adding headstone pictures for John and Violet Haring. Betty
