RE: MEARS
Happily! There are so many Mears!! I have never been able to determine the origin of mine. My Great-Grandfather was Charles Augustus Mears, born 1871 probably in either Norfolk or Portsmouth, Virginia though I can't be certain. At the time of his death in 1932 I know he had (at least) one brother named "Edward Mears" of California. There *was* a James Edward Mears who migrated from Norfolk to California (by way of New Jersey) but I've never been able to establish whether this was his brother or not. Otherwise I know that in the late 1800's his family owned a saloon in downtown Norfolk. Sound familiar at all?? My Great-Grandfather Mears was the deputy high constable of Norfolk. Stacye

Re: Holmes
You're welcome. Since they're your family, I'd be glad to transfer them to you if you'd like.
