Hi Dave! I transferred William Boatman's memorial to you. I attempted to link him to his Father but I believe the memorial number you provided was incorrect. I was able to link him to his Mother and add his middle name though. I'm glad you were able to locate him finally.

Just doing some research... according to the memorial site for Pvt. Leonard W. Boatman, he is buried:
Poplar Grove National Cemetery
According to Legacy (genealogy program), there is no county by the name of "Dinwiddle" in the state of Virginia, nor has there ever been one. I am informed that Petersburg is located in Fauquier County. Just thought I'd let you know so you can correct that, or let me know where the name Dinwiddle came from.

Dave, I wonder if you know anything about this man's parents. I think his father was William Russell Simon Knight (# 24355887), who died near Tryon OK in 1896, and his mother was Valley Vickers Knight, who died there about 1890. Could you verify any of this?

Sorry but no relationship as far as I know, but thanks for asking! Dianne

Jesse White is not my ancestor.
Buried in the same county as Jesse White is one of my Revolutionary War patriots Rev. Lewis Cookson Davis.
I have seen the book written of the Stovall line so I have all the children.
At present, I am trying to document Ann Stovall's husband Owen Griffin as being a newly proven Revolutionary War patriot with the National Society of Daughters of Revolutionary War. I submitted my application March 2013 and just got my rejection letter last week but I have two years to add to the proof....and I will do that. I did submit that he took the oath with John Stovall and his sons in NC but the new ruling is that I must submit two proofs that he was living in the county.
It is one thing to have a list of the children but it is another to have a legal document proving connections and events.
I will have to say that I did suggest that my Rev. Davis' grave be marked with a NSDAR plague. That was to the Selma DAR Chapter...I don't know if there is one in Prattville or not.
