Born in 1928, the son of a Methodist minister. Lived in Texas all of my life except for a year each in Illinois, Missouri and Arizona.... a six year plus Veteran in the U.S. Navy during WWII and Korean Conflict. Was salesman for such companies as Eastman Kodak, Remington Rand, and Pitney- Bowes. |
Avid genealogist since Feb. 1965 with paternal surnames:Boatman; Hull; Faulkner; Grizzle;Laney; Crouch; Ellis.
Maternal surnames: Clark; Daniell; Martin; Patillo; Allen; Maguire; White; David.
Children's surnames: Thompson; Bolin; Nichols; Jackson; Austin; Fambrough; Franks; Tabor; Gilreath; Sarrels....to name a few.
I am father of six (three biological), grandfather of eleven, great-grandfather of thirteen.
I was Historian for the Fambrough Family Society for almost 20 years and a book was published on my findings in 1990 and distributed to members. I was a main contributor to a published book, "The Boatman Family," 1971, by Opal London Cox.

There is no record of his nor his wife's burial in Mt Hope Cemetery, Almena KS entered in the Sexton's records. A better thought would be they were buried in Mt. Olive Cemetery in rural Norton Co., KS. I have reviewed all the Mope records as well as walked the cemetery and I do not believe they were buried at Mt Hope. We've found other instances where the two cemeteries have been confused with one another. James Moore

I am so sorry to hear of your death. I so enjoyed emailing back and forth. You will be greatly missed! Thank You for all the memorials you created for my family and teaching me about Find A Grave. Thank you for the pic you sent of my Grandfather preacher and yours together in their younger years! You meant so much to me even though we never met! Now you get to experience the Heavenly Realm! I'm not related in any way, and know nothing about the family. Just doing some basic looking at recent Overton Cty, TN families, and you have the extent of my knowledge. :)
